How do You know that you love somebody?
I know, maybe this is crossing the invisible softness line on a piston head forum. IŽll take my chances of getting banned or forever marked as a silly girly. But I really want an honest assessment;
What is it that constitutes and merits the use of the word LOVE? Specifically, what is it about your better half that make you love her/him? Looks, behavior, personality...what? Secondly, how can one describe the feeling of love? This is a tough one, guys. Give it your best shot!

I look at it this way:
Long after the initial infatuation has worn off, I feel "normal" when my wife is around. I would feel "incomplete" if she was away for a week or two. I would feel devastated if she was never coming home.

It is an interesting question.
I've always been a bit on the sensitive side, and have had at least my share of infatuations, but they don't happen any more. Three years ago I was released from a 23-year marriage that was verbally and emotionally abusive. I thought my steely sense of self esteem was impermeable, but I was wrong. Damage was done. It is so very nice now, to come home to an empty house. Right now, there is a lady. The thing I have a hard time getting my mind around is that there seems to be NO down side to the time I spend with her. No criticism. No disappointments. Nice discourse. We're both good cooks. Sex is......VERY successful. I won't bother you guys with the details, but sex is VERY successful. Boinking this lady is like driving a 917-30, with just one difference.....there is no warmup wait. So now, in the absence of those infatuation feelings that I remember feeling on so many occasions when I was a bit younger, I wonder what's happening. I'm certainly feeling comfortable. But what I'm NOT feeling is that desire of possession. The MUST HAVE feeling. I like not having it. But I hope to some day be victimized again by it.
