man
I do a fair amount of cycling...I only own 2 short sleeve pearl izumi jerseys...one blue/black, one red/black.

I don't like to go on group rides bc half of the cyclists around here are cliquey tools.

I like to ride alone or with one friend, and I'm terrified of getting hit by a car.

Having said that, I am absolutely ready to throw down with some mouthbreather who wants to yell $hit at me when he drives by, or thinks it is funny to swerve or pretend to swerve at me. (mostly college students and townie losers). I don't care how many of them there are, or how much bigger than me they are.

I'm so sick of the xenophobic I-don't-understand-it-so-it-pisses-me-off-or-makes-me-uncomfortable crowd.

I make my lattes at home. Toodles.

PS - I don't know what the hell kind of pedals/shoes these guys are using, but I have shimano 105s - pretty standard and common clip in configuration, and popping one foot out for stops is very easy....

Yea, kick some ass Dan, [powerfist]

I like to drink lattes.

Sometimes when I'm stopped at a light at an intersection a bicyclist will pull up next to me then put his hand on my car for balance. I guess he doesn't want to unclip his tap shoes from the pedals. WTF? Get your damn hands OFF MY CAR!

That's just rude. As a car guy and a cyclist, I can't imagine doing that.

I have put my foot on someone's grill, but that was when he tried to run me over at an intersection.

Yeah, I'd never get away with that ***** here in The South. I try to keep interactions with motorists to an absolute minimum.

I actually got "waved by" by a Tesla Rossa [sp?] in my 944 on my favorite twisty road once!

I love riding my bike but I am fortunate to have bike paths here in S.P. where I'm not putting my life in the hands of motorist so I don't feel the need for a bright jersey... and spandex? uh... my body isn't made for spandex (wouldn't be nice if more people used that little bit of common sense?) a set of sweats and a jock strap works fine for me.

Honk your horn and watch him fall over if he's still clipped on. Dumba$$ cyclists ruin it for the rest of us.

I think you meant SPDs. Shimano 105s is a group set.

I agree that clipping on/off is very easy...with practice. The first time I rode with clipless pedals and cleats, I had forgotten to unclip at a stoplight, then panicked when I couldn't get off and fell over. Embarrassing as heck.

If you are wearing road shoes with those SPD's, good luck. You might have a chance if the cleats are recessed into mountain bike shoes; other wise you'll have to say "excuse me while I sit down to remove my shoes..."

You are VERY lucky...go to Portland, Oregon...you'll quickly learn why baby boomer asses of either sex should never be wrapped in spandex...
