Need restaurant advice in San Jose, CA
I am taking an investor our to dinner in San Jose, and the place I always go 840 1ST is closed. No Indian or Sushi, I prefer a nice streak house.
Let me know what there is. Thanks

How close to San Jose? If you can travel for a few minutes I'd recommend the Los Altos Grill. Or for Italian Ill Postale. If you get over to Saratoga there are a couple of good restaurants like The Basin - and there's a good Mediterranean restaurant but the name escapes me right now.

I've heard good things about AJ Stump's and Arcadia in San Jose, but I haven't been to either.
Top-down best steak and fries in the Bay Area is at Bistro Elan in Palo Alto. / J

Use Sfgate.com and look for their top 100 list - never gone wrong there.
Here are two from my Zagat guide: Alexander's Steakhouse, Cupertino (www.alexanderssteakhouse.com) Parcel104, Santa Clara (www.parcel104.com)

Don,
We made it to Alexanderssteakhouse this week, great place. The Chief Mother is Japanese, and father was a rancher in Texas. So the items were really interesting. The bill came with fresh cotton candy. Only compliant would be there was less than 5 bottles of red wine under 100 bucks a bottle on the wine list. Michael
