Guys, I'm a bit of a closet baseball fan. I don't go to games or anything...but I've liked the game since my grade school years.
So, naturally when the Oregon State University Beavers won the collegiate world championship (reigning champs!) I followed the team. Would listen on radio, etc. I mentioned a player on that team I thought was pretty good in an email to John...among other topics. Well, I got a small package the other day. In it a hat from the Portland Maine "Sea Dogs" AA team. Autographed by none other than Jacoby Ellsbury, former Beavers star...and currently the minor leagues batting average leader. .452 in 17 Games with the Sea Dogs. As of now, Jacoby Ellsbury, hailing from the tiny town of Madras, Oregon has been moved up to AAA ball. He may not be there long. His base stealing talent is legendary in these parts. Boston Red Sox fans, keep your eyes open...he's a great fielder & batter, and could be there soon. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacoby_Ellsbury But really, This is about John Fusco...who sent me the hat after I'd sent him a non autographed Beavers hat some time ago...
