'Divorce' billboard removed

The city of Chicago has taken down a racy billboard that proclaimed "Life is short. Get a divorce."

The billboard featured photos of a scantily clad woman and a shirtless man and was an ad for Chicago divorce attorney Corri Fetman.

The display drew criticism from some residents in the Rush Street neighborhood and from other lawyers, who say the ad sullies their profession.

The billboard was removed a week after it went up after Ald. Burton Natarus (42nd) determined it didn't have a proper permit.

Fetman says her billboard was no threat to people in happy marriages. And she says it was taken down without due process.

Fetman's law partner, Kelly Garland, added that even people who disliked the billboard should worry about what its removal means for free speech.

Seems like Chicago is trying to out P.C. the west coast, fortunately us liberals can't handle those nasty winters so they should be safe from a sudden migration.

Chicago, where the Democratic Party, the city government, and the county government are just different terms for the same group of people.

My father used to work for a contractor in the city who said that during his lifetime in the contracting business, there was only one job that he didn't have to bribe someone to get!

Daley runs the state of Illinois. He got his man, Blagojevich, in the governor's mansion. (Okay, so no one really knows if Blago has actually seen the inside of the governor's mansion as he runs the state from Chicago and only makes occasional trips to Springfield.) Now he is trying to get his man, Obama, in the White House.

From what I understand, Obama was considered an "outsider" in Chicago politics when he first ran for the state legislature. Somehow, he went from "outsider" to "insider" during the course of the campaign. He has ties to contractor Tony Rezko (a friend of Daley and Blago who just went to jail). The governor still has a stack of federal subpoenas on his desk that he has refused to make public despite the state attorney general--another Chicago Democrat--publicly stating this action violates the federal Freedom of Information Act. Still, he knows that no one will actually hold him accountable.

Chicago... where you can't eat goose liver

One winter (brrrrrr)I was working there for a few weeks and was fascinated by the parking problem. Apparently it was common practice to set lawn furniture, garbage cans, etc. out on the street to "save" you parking spot out in front of your house and when I was there they had just made that illegal... they reported on TV that several public servants were still doing it.

My co-worker and I finally figured out you don't go out to a particular restaurant in the evening... you go out to find a parking place then find a restaurant near where you found parking.

We got smart and started taking a taxi.
