Oh the humanity!!!

"Weather your looking for just another Porsche to add to your collection or your first performance Porsche purchase."

"We pride ourselves in finding and offering the finest pre-owned luxury cars to the Ebay and Scottsdale community. Make sure to check out our other Auctions on Ebay for many more rare and interesting cars. We are a Licensed, Bonded and Insured car dealer in Arizona"

you just can't make this stuff up...

stomachmonkey 04-30-2007 05:07 PM

wow. those "brake cooling" ducts look like dents. and the luggage rack, where can I get one.

Porsche-O-Phile 04-30-2007 05:11 PM

Aren't those light. . . things. . . off of a Nissan Puslar NX?

God. What a waste of red paint.

Aurel 04-30-2007 05:12 PM

Look at it this way: you can buy a 3.2L motor + trans for cheap, and trash the car that goes around it.

Aurel

Super_Dave_D 04-30-2007 05:14 PM

This Custom Porsche has had thousands & thousands of dollars and man hours spent to upgrade and completely customize this one of a kind Porsche.

DeutschMark 04-30-2007 05:35 PM

The trunk looks pretty clean.

djmcmath 04-30-2007 05:39 PM

Actually, it's only at $3300 right now. If the motor's in decent condition, that's a great price.

Aerkuld 04-30-2007 05:40 PM

Fugly
But as Aurel pointed out it's a cheap parts car, except that your name would be associated with it.

djmcmath 04-30-2007 05:41 PM

I mean, a great price for a 3.2L motor, with a Momo steering wheel and some gauges that I could "part out" to the Ricer crowd, I'm sure.

Ok, seriously, who among you _didn't_ picture yourself behind the wheel of that incredible looking car. Come on, own up to it, you know you love it!

Dan in Pasadena 04-30-2007 05:41 PM

Holy Mother of God, that thing is awful. I am totally a believer in never speaking an ill word about another man's ride, but this? Eek!

Gene Wilkes 04-30-2007 06:04 PM

I wanted to say "fugly" but someone beat me to it!!!!!!

Shuie 04-30-2007 06:06 PM

Why on earth didn't someone stop halfway through that project and just refuse to complete it? Thats awful. I don't care if it happened during the '80s. There is no excuse for that.

HardDrive 04-30-2007 06:10 PM

I saw that last week. Isn't there some way to stop people from using the name 'Porsche' on horror shows like this?

vbaron 04-30-2007 06:20 PM

The description says "a great conversation piece". No lie there! Our conversation is what kind of "piece" it is.

And the scariest part is that there are 7 bidders!

Actually, probably what happened...then someone with lesser skills finished it off. I could stand the car from the doors fowards, but from there back...just...terrible.

red-beard 04-30-2007 07:21 PM

OK, you go to all of this trouble but

you don't change the crappy door handles
or the windshield wipers
or the freaking mirror. That is a stock 914 mirroe.

Same crappy guages
same air vent controls

and 7 people have bid on this.

Maybe they are looking for the engine and transmission

legion 04-30-2007 07:29 PM

What is the base for that car?

I see no pictures of the engine. Is it mid- or rear-engined? It looks like it has a bastardized 928 rear end. The sides look like collision damage.

t951 04-30-2007 07:37 PM

It says cliffebay in all the pics.....i think it may be an instruction.....ebay, help me push this off a cliff!

a true travesty.

928 rear, 300z headlights, i can't continue....to much bile....

onlycafe 04-30-2007 07:37 PM

just dreadful.

Looking at some of the photos I think there's a 911 under there somewhere. To be honest I think a pre-K class could do better with play-doh.

Kraftwerk 04-30-2007 07:42 PM

end the auction early please!

M.D. Holloway 04-30-2007 08:19 PM

Ya, great pics of the engine...

tabs 04-30-2007 11:58 PM

Those 7 suckers...I mean Bidders are R Gruppe members.

pmajka 05-01-2007 04:54 AM

Its up for sale again???

GO DAWG GO 05-01-2007 05:10 AM

One lasting point...Its SILLY but, This guy put a HELL of alot of work in this thing....I'm not sure it wasnt for Ripleys beleive It or Not. It must be the owner of a junk yard with illegal body workers from TJ needing some sustainment through the winter. Any cognizant/reasonable 1st world person would have not done this.

I know.... actually list the car on Ebay as GAY....The little Gay Porsche .....Some San Franciscan will buy it for big bucks....

Hugh R 05-01-2007 07:34 AM

Didn't it say 914-6 at the beginning of the narrative? What's impressive, I guess, is that they can make it look so not like a 914.

914, look at the rear trunk

RickM 05-01-2007 07:53 AM

Why 400 pictures of the car...most from the same angle? Does pic quantity equate to quality?

Super_Dave_D 05-01-2007 08:17 AM

I like the door tops

Maybe, I couldn't read while crying.

the 05-01-2007 09:16 AM

That thing has been for sale over and over again for years, I think Al gore must have invented that car at the same time he invented the internets.

scottmandue 05-01-2007 09:23 AM

Rats! someone beat me to the huge manatee pic!

I too try not to be judgmental of other peoples style and taste but on my gaud!

On a positive note IF there is a decent 3.2 914 conversion under all that and you could pick it up cheap and reinstall a 914 body on it.

svandamme 05-01-2007 10:00 AM

tempted to ebay-ask if it was done by Chip Foose :D

Nape75'911T 05-01-2007 10:03 AM

Usually you can find something....

.....worth complimenting on a cobbled together car.......

usually.....

azasadny 05-01-2007 10:17 AM

Yep!
