Ryan, I hope you mean that in a good way...I'm not planning on leaving the planet anytime soon. If you are? Email me...NOW!

I tell ya...after celebrating earth day late, and putting a few fir trees in the woodshed today...at age 63? Chainsaw & splitting maul? Well...wanna trade bodies???

bigchillcar 05-06-2007 10:15 PM

paul: would the body come with that, uh..'72s..and cindy? :)

:D

Micro organisms brake down the body to the molecule level, which in turn gives new life to other life forms.

In short - pushing up daisies..

There is no such thing as a 'soul' that lives on.

Thre first part is accurate. For the second part, I respectfully disagree, but if this is your opinion, I am really not here to try to convince you otherwise. I would find it hard to go through life without any form of spiritual belief (which is not necessarily religious), but again, to each his own. This is a very personal thing, and life itself gives you the answers, not some dude on a car bbs forum (that would be me ;)).

I actually wish I could believe otherwise, but I donīt. Must be nice believing death is not the end of oneself.

markus, christianity is still a tough pill to swallow at times for even the most firm of believers..asking someone to accept the premise based solely on faith..it wasn't intended to be easy. the idea is that god asks you to accept his existence without absolute proof, absolute knowledge. many will ask the question, 'why doesn't he simply reveal himself and end the argument?' it's believed that he wants the choice to be made on the basis of 'faith', not 'reason'..fundamental to a belief in the personal god. no one is ever able to eliminate 100% of doubt; that's simply understood. were he to completely reveal himself to everyone, that would eliminate that concept of 'faith' and take away the 'choice', which god asks man to make. he'll always allow room for another durn for'ner though.. ;)

...well by definition if you're dead, you're not alive. Therefore if there was life after death, you'd not be dead in the first place. :)

I think that your soul goes back to the volcano and then you're given an assignment to tempt Tom Cruise into feeling bad about himself and filling in all the open spaces in the letters b,d,e,o,p,q,and r in every L Ron Hubbard book in your spare time.

Two weeks ago I attended the funeral of a friend. The entire family believed that their loved one was in peace in heaven. That is very powerful, easy to sell, thinking. I was born without the *faith* gene and will likely go insane should I lose a child before my time.

Puttin' the fir tree in the woodshed?

Is that what we're calling it now?

Like the old golf joke, I want to be re-incarnated as a lesbian. That way I can still make love to women and I get to hit from the red tee's...

Hoot! The painful part? Cutting it all into 16" sections, then splitting it! With a maul!

Always nice to be welcome, Ryan! :)

Life is defined as the ability to metabolize, to think, the vehicle no longer exsists so nope - but I will tell you this, there is death after life...

12own911 05-07-2007 03:41 PM

and you keep coming back until you get it right... some more then others...

You bring up a good point - how would we ever know if one of us went the way of all flesh?

It is important that we have someone who can give updates about our mortality. I choose Ed Hughes and Mark Wilson (both local to me) - Ed cuz he seems real responcible and Mark cuz...well...hmm...

interesting to compare this poll with the "is there a God" poll;)
