Is there life after death?

Well what do you think happens when we snuff it?

Does it all end for us or is there something more?

Is it a biblical paradise with halos, harps and wings or a horned guy with a pitchfork?

Is it something else?

A couple of the more pleasant theories are; that we will find what we believe we will find, and another: that our deaths are the start of a big bang where we create our own universes.

For those to lazy, embarrassed or too unimaginative to post I've included a little poll:

I don't know.

But I find it extremely offensive when someone insists that religious people are stupid.

I'm also extremely uncomfortable when someone begins a conversation with "Have you found Jesus?"

dead now..still waiting for life..http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/bomb2.gif

The energy that made us, which some call soul, goes back to its source, where it may have various outcomes, such as being reintegrated to the light, or being sent back for more learning experiences, or keep acting in a different plane, as conselor for other souls still on earth for instance. The body, definitly is rotten and will never live again in the form it once was.

thinkfloyd14 05-06-2007 05:23 PM

legion 05-06-2007 05:23 PM

Aurel,

Do you think these ascending "energies" are contributing to global warming?

bigchillcar 05-06-2007 05:29 PM

lol...legion.

targa911S 05-06-2007 05:42 PM

Nope...dead is dead. The after life is a story told by those to that seek to control the masses.

lendaddy 05-06-2007 05:56 PM

I'm pretty sure there is a God/gods or something bigger than us that created us(either intentionally or unintentionally). I am also pretty sure that when you die you're done...the worms crawl in----the worms crawl out.....and all that stuff.

I'm getting cremated:D

bigchillcar 05-06-2007 05:58 PM

..the worms play pinochle on your snout..

legion 05-06-2007 06:03 PM

They eat your eyes, they eat your toes...

bigchillcar 05-06-2007 06:06 PM

..they wrap you up in a lily white shirt..

In the history of mankind there have been about 100 billion people who have lived and died. Not a single one has come back from the dead and told us of an afterlife. I would say the chances are pretty slim.

I'm still trying to figure out what the hell is happening pre-snuff-it.

It sound like you guys are way ahead of me. So tell me, what does one's awareness consist of? How much, soul, is going for a ride in ones body? . .. where do "soul" and brain overlap? ...or are they completely seperate? Would your brain know it if a different soul popped in for a visit? What if your soul took a vacation from the body for a while --just pressed the auto pilot button? Would the body just keep going?

I know who you bad people will meet after you die.

This may be the funniest thread I've read yet.

"My young son asked me what happens after we die. I told him we get buried
under a bunch of dirt and worms eat our bodies. I guess I should have told
him the truth--that most of us go to Hell and burn eternally--but I didn't
want to upset him."
