Roky Erickson - any fans?
I just got the Roky Erickson anthology. What a genius and what a sad story. Good to see he's still around and making a comeback of sorts.
Anyone else here listen to him?

I've heard the "13th Floor Elevators" stuff but none of his other stuff. I'll have to check out the anthology. Imagine being busted for a joint back in the 60's-70's and facing 10 years in prison? Pleads insanity and is subjected to shock treatment. Man, have we come a long way.
One guitarist along the same lines I've been listening to lately is Arthur Lee and "Love". Some great music, also "The Ozark Mountain Daredevils" were another overlooked band.

Roky rules! Great song writer.
He certainly got a raw deal , have not seen the documentary. Saw Arthur Lee play years ago: Amazing!

Kraftwerk!
Excellent! When I was in college, I used to blast the first 2 kraftwerk albums when driving my Corrado around. Weird kid, I know. Yeah the Roky documentary will be coming out on June 8th. Can't wait to see it. Between the Parsons doc, the Townes Van Zandt doc, the Johnny Thunders pseudo-doc, and the Roky Erickson one, my gf is going to be realllly sick of messed up musician sad story documentaries.
