So....Pissed

Today Senator Kotowski's magazine ban bill passed the Senate with 31 yeas, 26 nays,
1 present and 1 not voting. This bill is headed for the house. It will probably go to an anti-gun committee so it will likely pass out of committee easily to become a floor fight. Please be sure to call your Representative and tell them to oppose SB1007.

The Dems won the election...so, they now behave as they do...
You think it's bad now? Wait until Hillary! is sleeping with whomever in the Lincoln Bedroom...and Pelosi is next in line.

legion 05-09-2007 07:30 PM

I should clarify, this is the Illinois Senate.

So I it will be illegal to get Excellence Magazines?

pwd72s 05-09-2007 07:33 PM

Matters not. "Blue" states all are on the same page...and it's happening inside the beltway as well. If the 2nd amendment survives the next six years? I'll love it...but man, I wouldn't bet on it.

Give it time...

Call me crazy, but I think the 2nd Amend. is alive and well. DC's gun ban was overturned and the appellate court refused to hear it. Now it goes to the SCOTUS. It will be a HUGE ruling. I think something like 38 states have shall-issue CCW laws on the books now. Show me one case in any of those states where a CCW holder has misbehaved with a gun. There is no gun rights crisis in this country now. It can be better, but I don't see it getting worse anytime soon. Just move out of IL. The politics there make NJ and LA look straight and honest.

Pelosi is next in line to sleep with the hilderbeast in the Lincoln Bedroom??? Scary thought:eek: I hope the one who vote away the 2nd are robbed at gun or knife point, they don't deserve to be protected by law abiding concealed weapon carrying citizenshttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1178767908.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1178767945.jpg

The "New" interpretations of the 2nd amendment are just plain dumb. For about 150 years since the formation of this country, you could carry a gun, no restrictions. Suddenly, there are these new interpretations of the 2nd amendment? What changed the constitution? nothing. Why what you did yesterday is now illegal today?

Dunno guys, sorry to hear about IL, but the fact is, gun control is a dead issue on the national stage. The Democrats won't touch it with a 10 foot pole until after the next presidential election, and probably with not much zeal after that. The western Democrats are not exactly Hillary lovers.

EDIT: The western Democrats outside of california are not exactly Hillary lovers.

Moneyguy1 05-10-2007 09:52 AM

THings change. An old timer of my acquaintence once complained about the loss of the freedoms of old. "I could go outside on my family's farm, shoot my shotgun, drop my drawers and take a $hit. Now there are so darn many people around that I would get arrested for doing either!!"

Crowded world (double since the 50s) and no end in sight.

"Make Room! Make Room!" (look it up)

I'm hoping Parker goes to the SCOTUS, and they echo the DC Circuit Court.

Once the SCOTUS rules that a ban is a violation of the 2nd Amendment, and the 2nd protects an individual right, then it's all over for HCI and the like.

It's really simple. One phrase needs clarification (although some of us already understand what it means):

"... the right of the people to keep and bear arms..."

Is 'the people' mentioned here the same 'people' mentioned everywhere else, which are individual citizens of the United States? Or are they some other 'people'?

Even though these guys know this is true, it's still going to be a hard sell. Pretending that liberals are all America-haters who reject Christ and hope to eliminate values and surrender to terrorists.........helps them avoid looking at the facts. It's a constant battle with cognitive dissonance and liberal-bashing helps avoid that internal, emotional confrontation.

Rick Lee 05-10-2007 04:05 PM

Supe, I think you meant to respond to a post in some other thread.

Its Liberals arrogant assumption of self rightousness that makes me think they are delusional.

Moneyguy1 05-10-2007 07:18 PM

As are you at times, my delusional friend!! I cannot understand how an otherwise educated and sophisticated individual can make such general statements and think he will retain his high position as guru.....

<G>

Painting with such a wide brush is a sure indicator of shallow thinking, unless, of course your objective is to rabble rouse and do a wee bit of trolling......

That the case, tabby?

I dunno...a wide brush sure paints a section of T-111 faster than a narrow one.

Yup! Liberals love bogging you down...minor point by minor point. It usually begins with the phrase: "It's just not that simple!"

Guess what? It usually is...
