I just love stories like this

Just got this from a friend. Yeah, you go girl !!

Wed May 2, 2007 1:22 pm (PST)

Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower a home alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two story home.

It seems the two crooks never learned two things, they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine. Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.

Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buck shot from the 11 year olds knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.

It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen .45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. The victim, 50 year old David Burien, was not so lucky as he died from stab wounds to the chest.

Armed citizen protecting herself...at age 11. She did well, saving the taxpayers the cost of a trial.

This one smelled funny - all the hallmarks of a fabricated story.

Well, it's a fake:

These stories are usually fake - come to think of it, not sure if any email story I have ever been sent was real.

Me too...for true stories like this? Read "The armed citizen" in any issue of The American Rifleman...

It's still a heartwarming story. Let's make a movie out of it.

Yeah, except the movie would be about 1 minute long.

If you go to the Snopes link above, you will find two real stories from which the posted story here might have been loosely based.

These two other stories - of kids shooting and killing intruders - are heartwarming and true.

Best,

Kurt

A true one happened in this little town...intruder not killed, only wounded by a teenaged boy who was "home alone" with his younger brother. Too bad he didn't grab his dad's magnum elk rifle instead of his 10/22. The 10/22 was easier to grab quickly as the bad guy crashed through the door. Hours earlier the bad guy had killed a man in a nearby town...a drug deal gone bad. Still, one 10/22 round in the shoulder convinced the bad guy it was better for him to make a hasty exit...no telling what he'd have done if the teenager wasn't armed.

A point worth making here? Our national media LOVES to cover stories like the Virginia Tech mass murder. The stories of righteous self defense shootings by private citizens? Never...not nationally. These stories are done by local media, in the back pages of the paper...

uhm, well, a MASS murder rampage at a national college with students from all over the US and the world is national news, actually it's international news.

I don't expect the 90 yr old woman who fought off a mugger last month in NY to get much airplay in Oregon.

See if this explains it:

Young lady calls and asks if I'd be interested in subscribing to the Cincinnati Enquirer its only blah blah blah....

Told her I'd changed to a different brand of cat litter and no longer needed newspaper to line the catbox. Then asked her to never call again.

There's about 5, maybe six stories in those 31 links. It's pretty boring here, the local news vultures like to make it seem like its not.
