Alarm Co. should have installed an RJ-31x interface between the system and incoming telephone line. The RJ-31x hangs up the phone line when an alarm is sounded. Alarm company, if worth their salt, should have more than 1 number for call-backs. Cellular back-up device should also be considered.

On the other hand...I'd rather have the Fire Dept. show up "accidentally" than not at all in the case of emergency.

I decided on Brinks today, the factors being cost and equipment. Brinks was $850 for two keypads and the remotes and stuff. Monitoring was the same across the board, but Brinks made their own equipment and could be more flexible on price.
