Ducati racing bicycle...yum

Made in conjunction with Bianchi...

I didn't see the price anywhere, but I'd venture to guess between $9 and $10K because of the Duc branding.

Are any of those parts actually made by Ducati, or is it just some other bike with some nice off-the-shelf components and Ducati stickers on it?

"You can see the up and down motion of the riders legs, demonstrating our new patented process called Desmodromic Power Power Production (DPPP). Note that unlike conventional power production, or 'pedaling', power is applied on both the upstroke, and the downstroke."

Hmmm...good question. Unless Campy makes Duc parts, (they have made wheels for Lamborghinis and race cars), I'd say no. It's still a balls-out race bike, sticker or not.

Insteresting. States the fork is a Ducati Full carbon straight. Maybe they made the fork?
But at the same time looks much Like my Alpha Q,
Cool bike none the less.

Campy used to make rims for Ducs, I think. Like, when the 916 was new. I know Marchensi (sp?) did...

nice but looks to have less carbon than my Cadent.

BTW anyone heard that the airlines may be sucking up the carbon fiber and carbon-carbon for new equipment? May result in either a scarcity or serious price hikes for other apps.

Not the airlines, the aerospace mfr's. I have seen the F/A-18 and F-22 production lines and there is more composite than you could believe. Huge sections of the stuff, made to incredibly precise tolerances. Honeywell/Bendix is also making CF brakes for planes now.

I was really expecting a sexy trellis-style frame. Guess not.

Looks like the frame, fork, stem, and handlebar are all CF on the 900 XR. The model # (900) refers to the frame-weight in grams! That's just under 2 pounds!
