What's Going on in here?

I go away for a couple months and when I return, I don't believe my eyes.

Lions and lambs, swords into plowshares...

Wow, what a nice pleasant place this has become. People are actually <gasp> complementary of each other.

Thank you, all.

But what the heck happened? What did I miss?

The lead instigator, FastPat, was banned. Much to the dismay of both liberals and conservatives alike.

widgeon13 05-14-2007 04:36 PM

I don't feel any dismay over Asshat's departure, the message was always the same. As I have said before, there was no need to read his posts.

It's Todds fault!

The compulsory Lexapro is kicking in...

I dunno, I appreciate that I can open a thread who's title I don't fully understand without fear of being assaulted by some pseudo-conclusions with the same tired old messages. Not that this was all Pat by any stretch.

Don't forget that Mullholandose was also kicked out.

Cowboy? That's a hoot...he wouldn't have lived 10 minutes in a West Texas (or Eastern Oregon) bar...funny how he went missing right after the congressional election, isn't it? ;)

He got a new job as a Congressional Page for a powerfull Democrat. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Next we'll see pics of CC and Joe A hugging....news at 11.

At least no ones brought up Todd's butt darts.

Serioulsy tho, I had to go look and see if Wayne set up a Politics thread.

Nice to see everyone's just playing nice for a change.

lendaddy 05-14-2007 06:22 PM

Lack of energy, that's all:D

pwd72s 05-14-2007 07:19 PM

My thought is that we'll see animosity return...as the '08 election gets closer. Perhaps we'll be smart enough to avoid the taunts of major party "agents"? Time will tell. But I'm not holding my breath. It's too easy to get sucked in...I'll admit it...I thought that "Rodeo" in particular, was posting for and from the DNC...

There's still asshats present, I have no doubt.- they're not going away anytime soon. Can I deal with them? Sure. I choose not to. When the centrist majority constantly gets shouted down by the extremist minority, kinda makes it a not so fun bar to hang out in anymore.

What I can't stand is lack of respect and out and out rudeness. Still believe that the most underused words are "We should agree to disagree" and then, move on. It would make things a bit more pleasant for everyone.

Just my humble .02.

And thanks to all of you who try to keep this place civil. Hats off....

red-beard 05-15-2007 03:05 AM

I will quote my ex-wife. She was discussing health care (HMOs) with the recently widowed, long time family friend, Priest from my parent's church.

He said those words and she shut-up for, oh, maybe 30 seconds.

Then said: "Well I can't agree to disagree!" and promptly told the priest what she thought of him.

It was about that point that I realised that she was possed by the devil and I couldn't afford the exorcism.

Hmmmmmm. Maybe that is what we need. A few exorcisms here...cast out the demons that posses certain folk.
