Why are People so ****** Stupid???

I had my Porsche listed on ebay for 28,000 OBO and some IDIOT from Denmark does a "Buy It Now" and ends the auction.. He has 0- feedback rating plus a new account registered May 17, 2007. 3 days ago!!!

There were 6 days still left in the auction.

Of course,10 minutes later, he sends me 2 messages:

"Sorry, I entered a wrong bit, and cannot delete it. I dont want to bit for this item"

"I made a wrong bit and dont want to bye this car. I dont know how to recall my bit."

Now I have to jump through hoops and hurdles to get my Final Value Fee back PLUS I need to spend ANOTHER 50 bucks to relist it.

****** people !! ARE THEY BLIND???

screw ebay. go to craigslist. I sold my truck in a week for asking versus 2 listings on ebay and autotrader. I posted ads in nearby big cities (dallas and houston). can't beat the price, too.

Good luck--must be supremely frustrating for you.

You have to allow us illiterate Scandinavians some slack. We don´t habla your language sufficiently well for a successful bid on ebay.

I thought if it was mutually agreed by both parties to cancel the auction/transaction, there are no relisting fees. There are all kinds of crazy azzholes out there just looking to sabotage. Ebay can't expect you to pay because they can't stop this crap.

I would never sell a car on eBay without making all bidders pre-approved. Too much BS out there like this. I would only sell a car on eBay as an absolute last resort.

After selling a few specialty cars and a few flips on ebay, (a MG, fiat 850, 62 Volkswagen conv, Honda del sol) the key is to not use buy it now. Scammers like to use that if you do not respond to a scam email, bad bidders out of anger or the need to mess with an auction. Buy it now causes all fees to come due and immediate end to the auction, which as you see is a pain in the etc...

Most of the time the cars I have sold never make it to the end since the people come by look and drive the vehicle and make and offer. If accepted I end the auction. All of this info is up front and included in the listing especially a request for peoplee to come look at the car. I use ebay for the exposure. The 62 Volkswagen attracted a nice couple from Connecticut to MD for the car the wife always wanted, it was a great deal for both parties.

Ebay generally trades under the retail market unless the car is special or in demand but the exposure is great, buy it now bad.

Have you listed it for sale anywhere else?

Personally the last place I would ever buy a car is Evil Bay.

Ebay is an imperfect setup with no guarantees. Some of the bidders are phoney, and some of the sellers are phoney. Watch out for Rolex watches. Pay with paypal--they cover fraud for up to a $1000. And there are tons of gray art for sale by famous names--some of it probably real but difficult to authenticate.
For cars, ebay is a good starting point for what's selling in your area. If you like one, contact the seller, see the car and maybe he'll take it off ebay if you can agree on a price. A lot of cars get sold that way on ebay--maybe a majority.

And retarded is 80 points or lower. So if your IQ is 120, about 97% of the people you deal with will be 'retarded' in comparison.
