Talking Any pelicans in Orlando fancy a beer on Saturday?

I will be travelling to Orlando for work end of this week, and to reduce the flight ticket was requested by work to travel over on Friday. I now find myself trying to plan a free day in Orlando for next Saturday. Just thought i would see if there are any pelicans who fancy a beer??

I am booked into the Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort, and landing on Friday afternoon....

Would be cool to put some faces to names

Kroggers I would like to meet up with you but Saturday I'm cutting/welding the last GT flare on my 914 and after doing that and all the grinding I'll be beat!! I'm surprised other Orlandoans haven't chimed in maybe it's just a bad week. Enjoy a cold beer!!

No problem. I have now arrived to Orlando and recovered from the long flight. I will have to find something fun to do today...
Good luck with the cutting and welding - I should have picked up the reply before now, I would have offered to help

I live 2 hours south of Orlando. I saw this thread but I was supposed to head to Jacksonville to meet up with a friend in town there.

My 3 y/o is still recovering from pneumonia so its around the house this weekend for me.

Head over to Disney village, if you like video games, both old school and new go to Disney Quest 5 floors of video games inside. Pay one price to get in and play all you want.

Enjoy the nice warm weather we are having. Sorry I could not come up if you ever are coming again give us some notice maybe we can get a few Florida Pelicans there for a weekend.

I could for sure need a weekend in sunny Florida, Pål!

Jim, out of professional curiosity, you mention pneumonia with your 3 year old. Was it diagnosed with X-ray ? What is the generic name of the antibiotics prescribed ?

Marcus,

This was a complicated illness. He started running a fever and coughing a lot. The doctor first prescribed zithramax (sp?) and singular (sp? again) as he has had a history of Asthma like symptoms related to allergies.

He was not getting better so he went back to the doctor again, the doc did an albuteral (sp? once again) treatment and could hear a localized patch of pneumonia. So he instructed us to keep him on the Zithramax.

Then our 3 y/o complained of an ear ache so back to the doctor. They gave him a shot of Omnicef and followed with a prescription to take it orally for 10 days.

He is finally on the upside of this and getting better but still coughing a lot if he gets worked up. Like running around playing or crying when upset. Fever is gone now for 3 days.

This has been going on for 2 weeks now. Very frustrating.

Sorry for the Hijack Paul.

Yes, sorry for hijacking, Pål! Still you get bumped..

Jim, thanks. Sounds typical with these infections in that age group. Particularly with all the kids that also have an asthmatic tendency provoked by the airway infection. My only advice, if I may, would be to stick with Singular for a while. It is a good, safe medication for counteracting the inflammatory reaction in asthmatic airways with kids. I use it very frequently as a base medicine with kids that suffer several, frequent airway infections during winter season. Most will do without any medication at all during the summer months. On the other hand, Singular will many times not be enough to completely get rid of the cough. Most will intermittently need to complement with inhalation steroids to heal the inflammation during and after an infection. Rant over.

I am sorry about your kid Jim. Hope he gets well soon. Thank you for the pointers - I did take a trip down to the village. Very nice and a good pub there for a beer and lunch

Markus, i wish it was more fun to travel for work, but 99% of the times all I get to see is Airport - Hotel - Office - Airport. Nice to get a free day for once
