Unhappy They put the wrong tires on my car.

I bought a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport 2's for my E55 from out local Big-O tire shop. They matched TireRack's price. I had a little surprise when I got home last night and checked my new tires. My reciept says "Pilot Sport 2", but the tires are just plain Pilot Sport's. The tread pattern is different, they are not as highly rated and they are a little cheaper and than what I paid for.

What would you do?

Or get a large discount in the form of cash back. Either or.

Uh, Yeeeeaaaahhhh. I'm gonna need you to fix my tiressss. Um hmmm. Yeah, and I'll need you to come into work on Saturday, Peter.

Sorry, got "Office Space" stuck in my head.

Yeah, they need to fix that crap or if you are OK with the tires that you got then they need to give you some cash back.

And above all else, since they screwed you and it could be seen as intentional fraud they need to kiss your booty really good.

Typical, Big-O sucks, probably the worst tire shop in the country. Take them back and go to a better shop, and god help you, don't buy their warranty, it's worthless.

I have always had great service from our local Big-O store. No scratched rims, good prices.

I was anticipating a problem before I called them this morning, but without any prompting the manager has ordered the proper tires and will have them on the car tomorrow. No arguments at all. He never even suggested that I keep these tires on my car, just an apology. Great service. I'll keep buying my tires there.

You're lucky, when I met my wife she had a Maxima, Old O' had one size tire on the left, and another size on the right. The differential grenaded as a result, and guess who we had to sue to get the car fixed? At least the judge could get them honor their warranty.

Same here and believe it depends on the guy running the shop. The guy I use (and Chuck Kieffer as well) is excellent and I would trust him with anything.

Glad your Big-O treats you fairly. The one near me should be renamed to BigAss-O. I've tried to build a relationship, but service is spotty at best. Business was slow, not a car in sight yet he felt the need to gouge me on a basic oil change for my Ranger work truck. No wonder his guys were bored. Too many competitors out there to waste time on poorly run shop.

Kind of makes you wonder how many times they've gotten away with it. How many people would notice the bait and switch? Not many I'm guessing.

Moses...do you think it was an honest mistake? Possibly so, possibly not.

Conjecture is pointless at this point in time, the problem has been fixed time to move on. Nothing more to see or say on this topic.

The price difference was minimal. I'm certain it was an honest mistake. Mistakes happen. I'm just pleased with the way it was handled.
