I shipped my 911 from Washington state to Chicago--my paperwork is at the office but I think I used a company called B.A.T.S.--I had it shipped in an enclosed truck and was very happy with the process and delivery. I think it ran me about $1500. Good luck. Try a search here on the subject--maybe in the Tech forum.
Christian.

I shipped my 911 from Minnesota to Washington State using DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers). I was very pleased. I paid for all the 'extras' (top loading, insurance), and it came out to about $1500. They were on the expensive side, but I felt it was worth it. They have a satelite tracking system that lets you see the location of your car.

I used DAS a few years ago and was pretty happy with them. HOWEVER... I am using them as I write this trying to get a 914 from Houston to Charlotte. It has been one disaster after another. PM me for particulars, if needed.

Do a search on this topic. You will find more recommendations that you can imagine.

Plycon has a large presence in NY/NJ. They're more expensive than most, but they handle your car with white gloves (really...the driver's wear white dust gloves when moving the cars!).

I've answered this question more times than I can count. I always use Passport/Fedex. Stay far, far away from Horseless Carriage.
