Pirates of the Caribbean-At World's End

Just got out of the Cast and Crew screening at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. Long movie 2-3/4 hours! So weird quirky stuff that I guess the director liked, but overall pretty friggin amazing. When you see it, keep in mind a lot of the ship work is real mechanical special effects, not computer-generated; the ships, not the background. Can't say much else until its released this coming Friday.

Go see the movie, Disney needs the money!

Can't wait to see Keith!

Read that someone had to hold his knees off camera to keep him from swaying so much.

I was on stage during the two days that he was with us and that's not true. Security around that Stage and a good perimeter beyond that was very, very tight while he was there.

I'm sure he made a great pirate. I'm taking my sons to the movie on Sunday. Loved the others. Can't wait to see some behind-the-scenes photos like you shared last time!

I normally boycott all sequels and remakes. But with Keith Richards in this one, I may actually rent the DVD eventually.

I'd say that was true in the 80's and much of the 90's, but in the last 5-10 years there have been some great sequels.

I'm not saying the sequels are bad. I'm just sick of Hollywood reusing old ideas and not doing anything new. I'd much rather see foreign films nowadays. How many old movies, tv shows and comic strips can the remake? How many sequels can they do? I'm just sick of it. Do something new, and though I'll never ever pay $10 to go to the movies, I may rent the DVD someday.

Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter all have long stories to tell in multiple episodes. The Batman series has been OK...all though who could top Jack the Joker.

If U asked me if Lethal Weapon 1 or 2 was better I would say #2 all the way..now 3 and especially 4 were BAD!

Mad Max or Road Warrior...Road Baby all the way...Beyond Thunderdome..ehhh...too much money for there own good

Anyway back to Pirates...episode 2 was a bit of a let down, because there was no resolution... It is like the year in between is one long intermission between part 1 and part 2 of the same movie

Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings are original epic stories, totally different from the fast-buck, churn-em-out sequels and remakes:

Bewitched
Flintstones
Spiderman
Poseidon
SWAT
The Omen
Amityville Horror
Oceans 12 and 13

What's next? Airport '77 or '07?

Oceans 11 was a remake of Sinatras 1960 movie of the same name.

The clooney Oceans 11 was decent, Oceans 12 was a convoluted plot. But they are FUN...Sondeberg trademark is the Flashback Sequences...In Oceans 12 they got carried away and lost some clarity.

Also the Bourne movies...#1 was Great, number 2 was the same old same old...car chase...but still decent. pick 1 or 2 they are interchangable. Either one stands on its own as a good suspense/action movie. but together they get repetious.

Rambo 2 was better than Rambo 1. Rambo 3 was lets see Rambo kick those Russians Butts, we know hes gona do it. Poor Russians don't know who theyre foolin with.

Everything U mentioned above basically sucked, except the orginal Spiderman. Lets try the Superman Series, X men series, or Fantastic 4...blah...

U forgeot the Dukes of Hazard, Beverly Hillbillies, Starsky & Hutch, Mod Squad, Charlies Angels and Dragnet adaptations of TV Series as bein LOUSY MOVIES.

Oh, Duke of Hazard makes me mad to even think about. Just an insult to the original show. Though I only saw a few minutes of the movie. Ditto for Charlie's Angels.

If you were 10 yrs. old when that show was on tv, you liked it. No two ways about it. Friday night on CBS - 8:00 Incredible Hulk, 9:00 Dukes of Hazard, 10:00 Dallas. Those were the days.

Oh, how long until they make a Dallas movie?
