Monaco GP - Spoiler for Tivo watchers
I am now convinced Kimi has a black cloud over his head that follows him from team to team.
Lots of excitement in Qualifying this morning and it was looking like Lewis was going to be on the Pole. It will be interesting to see the pit strategy play out, they are predicting Massa has a lot of fuel on board and might be on a different pit strategy than the McLarens. Prediction for 80% chance of rain during the race. Should make it interesting. I am leaving at 7 in the morning for Tampa with the wife and kids so I will be seeing the race Monday night when we get back. Enjoy! Its good to see the kid, Hamilton is staying focused. ![]()

I agree that bad luck often finds Kimi, but this time I think it was his fault. It appeared that he brushed the wall causing damage to his right front suspension. Even if he didn't touch the wall, he clearly hit the curbing wrong or too hard.
Should be a good race. Hamilton will have to be careful. His aggressive moves at the start have worked well, but there are very close walls to contend with at Monaco. Not much margin for error. Just ask Kimi.

I don't often watch the qualifying, lost interest when they started playing with the formats but this one was spectacular! Hamilton appeared to be throwing his Mclaren around like a go cart, getting little four wheel drifts in places, it was amazing to see.
Alonso really proved his worth, he may have only shaded LH by a couple of tenths, but the cars are evenly matched so to my mind FA's head was focused just that little bit better. Should be a tense start that's for sure! |

LH was obviously held up during his hot lap. Who knows if it would have been faster than FA's. Should be a fun race tomarrow.

The pre-race coverage starts at 7:30 tomorrow morning, at least in Ohio. I think Indiana is on the same time...The race starts at 8:00.

Hamilton has won on that course every time he's raced and seems at ease. Alonso does not like Monaco. I think team orders will be the only thing that will get a win for Alonso, even though he's on pole.

Lewis is looking good for the race - I think he is running more fuel than his team leader and he is right up his butt. He's been 4 tenths faster than Fernando in sector 1 all weekend! I would love to see Fernando win however, keep a lid on things nicely and allow some pressure to rise.
Check this onboard vid out with Kimi, superb angle for a one lap vista of a really exciting track.

How is the GP of Monaco NOT on network television? I don't get Speed, so it's online live timing and scoring for me.

the next 4 races will be on fox, speed will still have all the practice/qualifying coverage though.
imo the guys at speed commentate it right and don't treat it like a nascar race.....which unfortunately will happen when it's broadcasted on fox...... speed usually replay the races which fox covers the week after with their own real time commentary which is what i'll watch, when on fox i mute it ![]()

Post race thoughts:
Monaco. I know that track so well from playing my kids video games . . . every turn. Love it. You should read the race threads on Fchat. They're livid about Kimi. They also collectively seem to think that Monaco should be removed from F1. Maybe 'cause Ferraris have a hard time there or something???? Haha. Good result from a great team. I won't spoil it for the Tivo crowd. Ian

I just watched on Tivo and all I can say is I would not want to be a employee of the Red Team these next couple of weeks.
They had a dismal showing Sunday. Bring on Canada and mid day Sunday viewing. I am running a AX on the 10th so Tivo again for me. Kimi - I am convinced he has bad luck now. Look at Hamilton, he admitted in the post race he hit the walls a few times and stayed in the race. Kimi makes a brush in Q2 and out he goes. How long before Ferrari starts begging MS to come back next year?
