Porsche golf bag - will it fit in the trunk of a '75 911?

My old bag is dead, tried another one, but it is too chubby to fit in the vertical space in the trunk. I was wondering if Porsche was clever enough to make their bag fit an "old" 911?

Anyone got one/tried it?

Dennis

Dunno...pretty sure my pool cue case would fit, though...

Sure, but your pool table won't.

Neither would a golf course. Ever noticed how the more upscale a guy is, the smaller the game balls become?

isn't it a pain in the proverbial ass to open up the trunk every time you wanna whack the ball and need to pick a stick?

also , do you have studded tires?? what kind of grip are you getting on the grass??

Gee, thousands of unemployed comedians and you guys are trying to be funny....

Just because I indulge in the sport of chasing a little ball around a course with an oddly shaped set of sticks, it does not make me incapable of normal conversation...which is apparently a material difference between you lot and I.

...now is there even the remotest chance of getting an intelligent comment from any of you? ...Dhr. v Damme, I can forgive, afterall, all they have near Rotterdam is mini-golf.....further north in the civilized end of the country, things get better of course...

...let the sport begin....

Butzi's company designed both...so you'd think that he would have thought of making the two work together..

Yup, that's it....question is whether anyone has actually tried it...

The dimensions are probably including the bags on the side, what is critical for fitting is the dimension of the base or foot of the bag....it probably cannot be much more than about 8" of plastic on the base, otherwise it will not fit...less would be even better.

The local dealer does not stock one for me to try, once I order it, it will be mine whether it fits or not....hence the questions...

Thanks

Dennis

Thanks for the offer Byron....I would happily take you up on it if it is not too much trouble.

BTW, there is no rush at all (golf season is over up here), just whenever you have the opportunity....and if it does not happen, no worries.

Thanks

Dennis

I have absolutely no idea if anyone cares about this.....but I went ahead and bought the Porsche bag in a fit of spending madness.

Now, having recovered, it IS a nice bag, lots of good parts and pockets, including an insulated drink holder for that special bottle we all need to play golf well.

Does it fit? yes, but barely. I have to take the drivers out and the put the bottom end of the bag up towards the passenger compartment. And the bottom is just small enough to fit under my strut brace. Just for reference, this is the '75 911....

So success!

Does anyone care besides me? Do I care what you care? Am I talking to myself again?

Dennis

What do you do with the clubs when you drive the 89 911?
Put them in the front seat?

'89 is in a million parts right now, but i see no difference for it. My '75 has a power brake booster so the trunks are virtually identical....

Did I say it was a nice bag?

Fun fact I learned when I was being certified to be a Porsche salesman in the `80's: one of the design requirements from Porsche was that it would hold a set of golf clubs. The question is, has the size of golf bags changed? If so, then in typical Porsche style, you'll have to find a NLA NOS golf bag!

A sunday bag fits for sure, but you have to remove the driver, and maybe the 3 wood, but they will lay alongside the bag. A staff bag will not fit, no way. It's not the length, it is the width of the bottom assembly-you can't get the lid down. Glenn
