Sheehan Calls It Quits

We were so close Cindy.....don't......don't go.

But my aim is getting better.

Rot 911 05-29-2007 07:08 AM

"When she had first taken on Bush, Sheehan was a darling of the liberal left. "However, when I started to hold the Democratic Party to the same standards that I held the Republican Party, support for my cause started to erode and the 'left' started labeling me with the same slurs that the right used," she wrote."

Imagine that.

Nostril Cheese 05-29-2007 07:08 AM

"Casey died for a country which cares more about who will be the next American Idol than how many people will be killed in the next few months while Democrats and Republicans play politics with human lives."

I do agree with this statement.

Rot 911 05-29-2007 07:11 AM

Sadly enough, I do too.

Jeff Higgins 05-29-2007 07:17 AM

But she is not really leaving. Unless one considers moving back to California "leaving" America...

If this truly is "no longer the country she loves", then she should consider really leaving. Maybe she can move to one she "loves" more.

Meanwhile, the rest of us will continue to work on this one, warts and all, without throwing our arms in the air and giving up. And without the unproductive, silly little tantrums characteristic of her cause in particular and most of the left's causes in general. Like the spoiled little child she is, we ignored her long enough and she ran out of interest in her foot stomping, arm waving little fit. That's really the only reason she is quiting; she quit getting the attention she craves.

Overpaid Slacker 05-29-2007 07:21 AM

+1 Fred and Kurt. But even a busted-up, dumb, deranged media whore of a clock is right twice a day.

ATEOTD, she's another loony, leveraged by the left/media until her baggage got too heavy. See also: Joe Wilson, Michael Bellesiles, Ward Churchill, et. al. ad. naus.

hardflex 05-29-2007 07:50 AM

She said this too, why did you guys leave this out?

"I guess no one paid attention to me when I said that the issue of peace and people dying for no reason is not a matter of 'right or left', but 'right and wrong,'" the diary says.

Sheehan criticized "blind party loyalty" as a danger, no matter which side it involved, and said the current two-party system is "corrupt" and "rapidly descending into with nary a check or balance: a fascist corporate wasteland."

and

She said the most devastating conclusion she had reached "was that Casey did indeed die for nothing ... killed by his own country which is beholden to and run by a war machine that even controls what we think."

She's right about those things, too.

It's becoming a myth that people can work grassroots to change our government. Entrenched interests will derail it every time.

If her message was universally appealing, I think she would have succeeded. Instead, her message was polarizing and myopic.

stevepaa 05-29-2007 08:15 AM

It was not the mesage, it was the messenger that was attacked.

As always.

Because I won't be lectured on "right and wrong" by someone who celebrates the actually tyrannical, murderous regimes of Castro and/or Chavez.

Does the chief clinical specimen for Bush Derangment Syndrome have any standing to decry "blind" anything? Let alone the moral compass or even awareness of irony in declaring the US a fascist wasteland, while embracing Cuba or Venezuela as social and political archetypes? "Nary a check or balance"? She's a poet, a vox clamatis in deserto? No, she uses hyperbole as "fact" and mistakes fervor for reason.

She's a moonbat, just as f*cked-up crazy, directionless and blathering as the American Idol fans she decries. If her son didn't, by his death, build her a cross upon which she so spectacularly and incoherently threw herself, nobody, anywhere, ever, would have put a microphone in front of her sagging face. We have the MSM and their agenda to thank for this creation.

Frankly, the last quote is just too stupid to respond to.

Lyon, can't watch that, what is it?

Slacker-

too stupid to respond to? I suspect you know better, but if not do a little research on oversite of these emergency spending bills, if you care to get another opinion. it's up to you

Sheehan, like Rosie, has more fans on the right than the left. We ignore her, why can't you guys do so as well?

Several Right Wing groups made donations to Sheehan's cause to help keep her going.

ronin 05-29-2007 11:55 AM

we did. why the hell do you think she quit? :p

rouxroux 05-29-2007 12:08 PM

Fly free, Mother Moonbat! (anyone wanna' buy a ditch)?;)

Icemaster 05-29-2007 02:20 PM

Her son Casey died so we all can watch American Idol.

The Grass Roots level still works...door to door. Howard Dean raised alot of money on the Internet. The Democratic Partty wouldn't let him be President but they sure put him in charge of the DNC. They love his money...and as such he has alot of input into the system.

I do agree with this statement.

I'm not sure I agree. We look at Dancing with the Stars and American Idol and the Sopranos as a diversion. Folks in other coutries woud do the same if they could.

Americans care, we just don't do stress well. Things are good here. Maybe too good.

fintstone 05-29-2007 10:12 PM

Son's insurance money ran out and the left wing donations petered out.

chibone_914 05-30-2007 06:25 AM

So Cindy and Rosie have one way tickets to Caracas! Sweet! Maybe they both will host a new show together on HugoTV?

kach22i 05-30-2007 06:32 AM

Re: her last heartfelt letter, just in case you have not read it yet. It's well written and says a few things we should all be able to acknowledge.

People of the world look on us Americans as jokes because we allow our political leaders so much murderous latitude and if we don’t find alternatives to this corrupt "two" party system our Representative Republic will die and be replaced with what we are rapidly descending into with nary a check or balance: a fascist corporate wasteland.
This is the only part some flag wavers should have a problem with, I say screw it if you are offended. The deaths of hundreds of thousands is far more offensive.

She's leaving America for California. How appropriate.

fintstone 05-30-2007 10:23 AM

Too bad she did not go to live with her friends...Castro (Cuba), (Chavez Venzuela), or Elvis (N. Korea).
