I really miss smoking
I'm not gonna start again, but I'm just sayin'
A smoke when you're trying to wind down is a nice. I really miss that aspect, everything else about it sucks.....but I miss that part.......alot. Why am I posting this? 'Cause I'm about to pop my second bottle of pinot of course. In all seriousness, there is no risk of me starting again, I just feel comfortable/confident enough to admit I miss it.

Me too man, me too. It wouldn't be so hard to quit if I didn't enjoy it so much, heh heh.
,,,but one more smoke and I know there won't be enough in the world for me.

I've never smoked regularly...just a cigar once a month or so...
(And usually none all winter).

Its been about 10 years, since I quit, and I admittedly still crave one once in a while....typically when opening my second bottle of wine
![]() I quit so long ago that I can have a cigarette and it doesn't cause me to want go back to smoking. |

I totally quit about a year ago.
Haven't cheated once, even after a bit of wine. But, I still chew several pieces of Nicorette 4mg each day. I figure it is probably better I chew the gum than smoke, but I know the gum isn't a good habit either. FWIW. Best, Kurt |

Hell, I smoke a stogie or two whenever I mow my lawn. Yeah, I have a big lawn. Cigarettes are another matter completely. I NEVER want to go back to my pack per day Camel straights habit..
Just got tired of coughing up krud as I tried to fall asleep, you know? If you don't know? Maybe you haven't smoked long enough...yet.

I've tried to smoke cigarettes a few times. They taste like crap to me.
Cigars, taste good to me...but are too expensive for me to smoke regularly.

How long ago did you quit? If its been longer than 6-9 months, trying to smoke again may cure you for good; You will probably gag and puke like the first time all over again.

One cig can get you right back on that horse. Best to avoid it.
I'm a social smoker who has tried really hard to avoid becoming a regular. I smoke more when I'm stressed but I average less than one cig a day, including all my bar time for the past 13 years. It's a tough balancing act and I'm probably going to have to quit for good soon.

I quit 11 years ago and still desire one every once in a while... but I will not because one would do it... I've done the stopping/starting thing so many times that I do not want to go back...

Hey, I'll admit, I smoked for just about 1 year exactly. I always swore I'd never touch the things because my Dad died at 48 and my uncle at 60, partly because they smoked (I think), but curiosity got the best of me...
I bought a pack when I was a bit over 18 and immediately I was swept into smoking a couple a day. Then, a several ciggs every day. Before long, I'd quit going to the gym because smoking didn't go well with physical exertion. The worst I ever got was a half pack per day. But still....sheesh......cigarettes are friggin dangerous! ![]() Back in January I was admittedly a bit drunk one evening and was smoking compulsively. Nicotine w/ alcohol can be a very enjoyable combination. But, I'd had one too many, was feeling a bit sick, and decided that I wouldn't be smoking the next day because I felt something outside my control was forcing me to do something I didn't really want to do. So I quit. It was a b!tch for a few weeks but my grandpa went cold turkey on his 50th birthday after smoking for 30 years so I figured I could do the same. This past weekend was the first time I'd smoked in about 4 months. I'd just had a few Red Stripes and my buddies wanted to have a smoke. I was worried that I'd be craving cigarettes again but this time, I felt confident I could scratch the itch. I'll never go back to cigarettes.... "Fun Fact #132": If you intravenously injected 60mg nicotine (the amount in a typical pack), you would die. The tobacco plant makes nicotine as a natural defense against bugs. Nicotine is very bad for you--it's intended to kill things.

I switched to Copenhagen about 5 years ago, I'm not looking forward to kicking it. I love tobacco in any form. I don't crave cigarettes after watching a guy at work rot away from lung cancer & he still wouldn't quit. As far as I know, it was his only vice. I will have to quit in the next five years. I would be impossible to not smoke cigarettes if I still drank beer.

I quit for good in Feb 06. I haven't had one since. The only time I seem to have even the slighest itch is when I watch action movies. Mel Gibson in Payback is always a *****. Actors seem to make smoking so damn glamorous. But it only takes a split second for me to realize I don't ever want that **** in my life again.
