Yo!, Joeska
Just got an email from Evren, joking about chartering an air freighter and flying the '72S from Oregon to Istanbul. He was joking, but then I had to wonder...would this cost a whole lot more than loading all into a container and then trucking it to a southern shipping port, then shipping to Istanbul?
Where would I go to find a cost on such a deal? Car, and a nice rollaway tool chest, some tools...other things made in the USA that Evren would like.

While you're waiting for the sun to get around to Joe, check with Kalitta Air.
http://www.kalittaair.com/ They know a few things about shipping cars. Joe probably has much more current info than I could provide - it has been way too many years since I flew into Istanbul.

Paul,
In London now and heading almost to Evern's neck of the woods today, Larnaca Cypress and Tel Aviv. Let me look into this tomorrow or Thursday when we have some down time. Jim's link to Connie Kalitta Air is a good place to start. Also might google Cathay cargo and CargoLux. They haul a lot of the Formula One cars around. Joe

proud veteran of kalitta right here.
a few years flyin' their lears out of detroit and el paso. we might have trouble squeezin' the 's' in the door. better talk with the dispatchers of the slightly larger planes...unless you're open to complete disassembly prior to launch!
