Unhappy shipping to US.......

Hello friends!!
I'd like to sell my race car to US.
So,I'd like to know registration a car from Japan.
74y 911 fully modified to race(3.6L,turbo body,fully cage.....)
Is it enable to registrate as street legal car in US?
Also,I have Nissan skykine R32 GTR (AWD) 1991y greatly modified one.
Is this one OK??
In Japan, pre 1974 car is much easier.....
Please let me know!!

Thank you,friends!!

I wouldn't think you'd have much problem with the 911, but I'm pretty sure you can't bring a Skyline into the country...

Possibly as a race car only ???

I see a couple of skylines running around Toronto. I think in Canada once you cross a certain number of years you can bring most cars in.

25 years after a car is built, you can import it to the US without having to meet EPA and DOT regulations. In Canada, it's 15 years. Registering a car for the road is done by the individual states. Some are easy, some are not. If the 1974 911 has lights, a horn, wipers, etc. it should be possible to register it in some states. The later car would be very difficult to get past the EPA and DOT regulations. It probably could be imported to Canada and titled and registered. From there, it would be up to you. I'm not saying you couldn't drive it across the border and possibly re-title the car in a lenient state, but it would be against the law.

If you want to find out more, look for a website for one of the certified compliance centers, or look at the EPA and DOT websites.
