YEP... I'm on a Buffet Diet, and I am officaily down 20 lbs in 2 months. There is nothing like being able to put your snount in the old feeding trough of a Buffet and pig out on garguation portions of food heaped high and still lose weight. OINK, OINK...

Most likely in the gutter in some alley somewhere. If it weren't for mother.......

Sidenote, good job. Life's too short already, so why hasten it....??? It's sure hard though...

My mom had to change her diet because of her blood sugar, and now (year later) she doesn't even like that much sugary stuff anymore.....

tabs 06-09-2007 03:35 AM

Like I said I am on a Buffet diet...so its not hard. I just do it. Oink Oink...

cool_chick 06-09-2007 05:13 AM

What does this diet buffet consist of?

tabs 06-09-2007 05:14 AM

All the meat, cheese and veggies I can gouge myself on.

So what's different than before?

tabs 06-09-2007 05:52 AM

No SUGAR, and reduce the intake of Carbs to 40gr to 80 gr a day on average. That means no Rice, Potatoes, Pasta, Sugar Deserts or in general Breads. Low Carb Bread and Tortillas are OK within the limits. Veggies are chosen for lower Carb content.

A rough running total of Carbs consumed during the day is kept in mind.

tabs 06-09-2007 05:55 AM

To go further I am going to have to moderate the amount of Fat that I consume. I consume alot of Fat..Butter, Salad Dressing, Oils of various types.

cool_chick 06-09-2007 06:03 AM

Yep. Those carbs are the trick. It cracks me up, in the store, you see "diet X" or "sugarless Y" ....then you look at the package, and it's loaded with carbs...

Even though indeed, breads need to be cut, whole grain breaks down slower....so even though the packages may have the same amount of carbs listed, the whole grains will not affect blood sugar as much...

Well, Tabdula, good for you! I need to start paying attention now, since smoking cessation slows the metabolism.....

scottmandue 06-09-2007 08:01 AM

So when is the book coming out?

tabs 06-09-2007 08:03 AM

I think I will call it the Oink Oink Diet.

scottmandue 06-09-2007 08:23 AM

Will the signings be at Barns & Noble or in the buffet line?

The book came out a long time ago.

It's called the "Atkin's Diet."

on-ramp 06-09-2007 08:29 AM

Sat and trans fats lead to high cholesterol and blood pressure. I would limit that. Dairy and meat is a no no.
7-8 servings fruits, vegetables a day plus 4 glasses of water.
also, eliminate the soda and the junk food.

While Atkins was still jacking off to pictures in the National Geographic I was losing weight by limiting Starchs or as they call them today Carbs...That was about 30 years ago now.

And fk I hardly ever have any kind of Soda or even Junk food...My problem is the MASSIVE QUANITYS of food I eat and not the quality.

Your advanced age cannot be denied, but nevertheless, Atkins began promoting his diet 40+ years ago, and his book, Dr. Atkins' Diet Revolution, came out 35 years ago.

Well in the past month its another 10 lbs..so the total is now at 30lbs.

Mother keeps giving me these little pills that she claims do nothing at all. But I am begining to be suspicious. I am paticularily alarmed at the big white rabbit that has been hanging around lately.

nostatic 07-11-2007 01:00 AM

is Alice 10 feet tall yet?

I wondered where Harvey had run off to?? :)

He has been around here for a while but assumed that he went up to the Great White North for the summer... Tell him to enjoy the Buffet for me!
