.Should I Bid on an 1988 Volvo

Down in Georgia is a nice looking 1988 Volvo 740GLE Wagon with 185K miles on it. Second owner has had it since 1999 and is selling because they are moving to Costa Rica. They have the Service Records on it and havn't had any major problems that they were willing to share. Car is Dark Blue with Red Leather Interior and looks to be a nice clean car. The estimated price is $1200.00

I had a 1980 240 GT..it was a good car, but parts and labor were pricey. Some parts were discontinued even after a few years. I know the 240 engine is nearly bullet proof. I had 215K on my car when I sold it. I know they are guttless wonders, but I am a guttless kind of guy.

Now what do I want this car for...to collect the mileage badges...I want to drive it to a million miles...which I will die before i ever see. Bad part about it is I don't have garage space for it...and I HATE leaving a car outside. And how to get it home, insurance and maintance. Somebody please talk some sense into me...!!!!

I think you need to consult your magic 8-ball.

I speak from experience, the cars are great, but the wiring harness's are the weak link and very pricey and time consuming to repair.
Good luck,Steve

So, Tabby can live vicariously through the dirty hood of an old Volvo wagon.

Lost Wages to Georgia?

Sounds like a hell of a long way to go for a $1200 car
