What Do You Think of This 'Car'
1. Anyone (in the USA) know what this is? It has a 5.7 litre Vette engine. I'll post the answer later today if no one knows.
I'm guessing someone overseas will know..... 2. Is this what GM should have built instead of that ugly truckish thing they built (was it called the HHR?). 3. Anybody with a Sportrac wish they could ahve bought this to haul their trash in? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1181565731.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1181565874.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1181565895.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1181565911.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1181565937.jpg |
I'm going to guess it's some sort of Holden, from Australia.

Yea, that's as much as I know. It's over here for 'temporary' inspection. It has to be returned to Aus.
|
Yep, it's a Holden but I can't remember the model name. The coupe version was a big hit by the Top Gear guys... they loved it.
|
Looks like a bastardized Monty Carlo to me--which is already a bastard.
|
It's a love it or hate it car.
I think it is very well done, the interior is very nice, and I 'hear' it drives very well. I was not allowed behind the wheel. |
Looks like a Holden El Camino to me, but they probably didn't use that name in Oz. If they brought it to the states that's probably the name that they'd use.
|
I like the sticker where the driver's head would normally be here in the states that says that it's right hand drive.
|
The coupe version is called a Monaro
|
The El Camino - not just a car, a way of life ....
Now where is that copy of "Redneck on Rainy Street" .... |
Interior looks nice, but from the outside it looks like a slightly-updated 1970's trar. (i.e. truck/car, which equals fugly, IMHO!)
|
It would be good for delivering mail. Quickly.
|
Just in time for the 2008 election! A new El Camino for "Slick Willie" to cruise aroud in. I wonder if he'll put Astroturf in the back of this one like his earlier one?
BTW, that's a version of the "UTEster"...It was a concept car first shown back in 2001. |

Here are the real winners

It's a Holden Ute Crewman SS, which is based upon the Monaro (known as GTO here in the US). It is available with a 3.6L V6 (same as Cadillac CTS) or a Vette-based all-aluminum small block V8. Either are available with a 6 speed manual, 18 inch wheels, and other go-fast goodies.
Rigs like this are super popular in Oz. |
Steve: you spelled weiners wrong.
|
Like I said, fugly!
