Drag car kills spectators.
How could officals have allowed this? I thought it was at a race track initially, but it was on a public road. A guy doing a burn out in 1500hp+ dragster on a two lane street, with people lining the road?!?!?! I saw a video of it, and the guy is going at least 80-100mph when he disappears in a cloud of smoke.
Race cars aren't toys. The run off and safety barriers are there for a reason. 100 years of motor sports and horrible accidents like this.....hasn't anyone learned anything? So terrible. http://www.komotv.com/news/8041316.html

That's insane and should never have been allowed. I was at a car show last year and they had 6 vintage top fuel dragsters run down the main street of a small town. They were literally just idling. That I can see. But doing burnouts with people lining the sides of the road???
![]() There was also an incident at the Elkhart Lake Historic races last year. On Friday night they drive the race cars from the track to the town (maybe 2 miles). It is generally a pretty controlled drive. Somehow, a McLaren CanAm car lost it and went into a swamp. Luckily, there were no spectators in that area. ![]()

It's good to know the event coordinators had all the safety precautions in place.
