This is Socialized Medicine For Ya

Only in CA could something like this happen...now some of U wags will say well theres one less illegal to worry about only 11.999,999 more to go. How heartless and cruel for anyone even to think that.

Anyway here is the story

Well, tabs, if so many illegals weren't clogging the system, things like this wouldn't happen, plus from what I have read, she had cried wolf before.

The picture of her seemed to indicate that she had the attitude of trying to "get over" on the system.

meth or whatever history, bleeding from the mouth should be enough to make anybody snap to it... takes 2 minutes to check if the patient is bleeding for a knocked out tooth, anything else i would think is enough to not simply dismiss it as crying wolf...

Wasn't she bleeding from both ends and another person in the waiting room also tried to call for an ambulance. And she was being arrested by the cops when she died? With no medical care in sight? Seems like lots of blame to go around.

The Police and Fire Department have an unwritten rule that if one of them is ever injured they will NOT be taken to DK.

The Times was doing a series of stories on it and how it is a death trap.
Unfortunately it is in Maxim Waters district and any time they try a shut it down she screams Racism, regardless of the fact people who go there for care DIE at a the highest rate of preventable incidents than any other Hospital in the country

If you think health care is expensive now, just wait until it's free."
-P.J. O'Rourke

Modify "expensive" in the above line to "incompetent"...still true.

It's a sad but true fact that more money usually makes problems worse becuase it encourages waste and inneficiency. Sometimes less is more. What our whole healthcare system needs is less red tape, fewer paper pushers, more doctors and nurses and accountability.

How about if people just pay for their health care, either with cash or with insurance.
Oh no, health insurance is too expensive Sam, they can't afford it! Bah!

if everyone paid their own way, health insurance would be cheap.
It's only expensive because a small portion of the people have to pay for the rest.
Take this "lady" for example. I'd venture a guess that she couldn't afford insurance, but she could afford the chrystal meth. Go figure.

Hopsitals, especially emergency care facilities in So Cal are dropping like flies because they can't make enough money to keep the doors open. Why? because 2 out of 3 people who come through the doors of emergency rooms in some parts of L.A. don't have any insurance and can't afford to pay for care. The hospitals have to treat them for free and then try and fight with the government to get some tax money (our money) to try and cover part of the cost.
Eliminate that problem and health insurance will be affordable for everyone.
A good start would be to stop giving people free health care who are in this country illegally. It is only free for them, for everyone else it costs a fortune.
do that and the cost of health insurance wil ldrop substantially and thec hospitals would become profitable again.
After that, we go after the lawyers.

When I was a kid, you went to the neighborhood pillpusher, waited in the outer room, and he would come out, look over the top of his glasses and say: "Who needs me the most?". Everyone could easily see if one of us was more in need than others...no arguments; everyone got seen. When you went in, you got pills or you got stiches, handed over a five or ten and went on your way. No more. It is now a business with so many middlemen that the system is strangling. I am getting Medicare offers for my ex who had not used my name for 20 years, never set foot in AZ,to the tune of two and three a week. Oh yes; she died two years ago.

Granted, we need hospitals for the serious things; we need specialists and we need an insurance system. But ask yourself...do we need so many hands out for a piece of the pie? Why can't we deal diretly with the doctors? Why can't the costs of "doing business" be reduced? Once again, granted there are instances where there are legitimate reasons to sue a doctor or hospital, but there should be limits set that would provide some relief. For example, in my wife's case, her medical insurance would cease if I croaked. I would like to see the doctor who mangled her insides pay for her coverage for the rest of her natural life, including future assisted living should that become a necessity. Add to that a reasonable monthly allowance that would keep her worry free and comfortable and I would be satisfied.
