livery suggestions

Well, the nostatic racing vehicle is undergoing a bit of surgery soon, and it is time to contemplate the livery. I'm going to f/g bumpers (and probably hood), and now have an IROC tail on that is primer gray. This will be a rattlecan livery, as a proper paint job is not in the budget (sorry Kevin...maybe once I get some more consulting gigs).

The current livery is minimal:

I'm going with IROC front and rear bumpers. Dave likes the neon red front on this Martini car:

I like it too, but am thinking of not going with an existing livery. So instead maybe keeping the orange/purple/black scheme. Bright orange front bumper, purple rear bumper, black hood with orange and purple corners (like the current design).

Or just give Calvin a couple of colors or spray paint, mask off the windows and wheels, and let him have fun...

Do the bumpers and hood in CF and leave them raw

CF. Hmm. You wanna sponsor me?

No Hillary bumpersticker. Instead I'm going to have a Hillary blow up doll strapped in the passenger seat. Anatomically correct (ie with penis).

Take a good pic of the car, and post it on fark.com as a photoshop thread...

How about camo? Maybe tiger stripe....

Carbon Fiber isn't THAT much more, and you'll save money on paint and the related labor. Oh, and you'll easily cut a second off your lap times

actually one idea is to do is a naval "dazzle" camo scheme like the ships in WW2. Keep silver as the base color and add in dark blue and other grays.

This is going to be a rattle can paint job, so materials and labor are minimal (and I may just leave them gel coat black). As for lap times, going to f/g should cut a significant chunk, as I'll be losing close to 100 pounds. But the stickers are where the real drop comes...

Reminds me of a Ritchey Comp mtn bike I saw back in the lat 80's

I had a Curtlo with a paint job that Doug (the builder/painter) called "Grandma's Rug."

Why not do the whole car near-flat black? Stealth bomber look. Gaining popularity for street cars I hear.

How about instead of racing stripes, use the staff in sheet music.

Kinda wandering, meandering all across the car with your favorite licks.

All black, then put This "TCP 18499-B" on your rear bumper. It can be in a fancy script if you'd like.

speaking of the rattle can paint on fiberglass parts, is that a nightmare removal/prep for a real paint work at a later date? i am thinking of doing the same.

sorry to go off topic todd and include some tech stuff. i have been pretty confused on where to post what as of late w/o having it moved.

regarding your color scheme? i suspect i can live with whatever you decide, but i kinda liked trek's idea, the music notes. maybe some elton john?

Always liked the Gulf colors, that Blue and Orange looks good on a lot of race cars to me.

Perhaps do the colors you have on there as stripes. If it is wearing numbers it might as well have them.
