Porsche Win's Le Mans GT2!
Patrick Long, a So. Cal native, wins the GT2 category for Imsa Performance in a Porsche. Yea!
|
Really? I watched the final hour of the race and I did not see a single GT2 entry. I figured they cancelled that class or maybe every one of them dropped out. Even after the race it took them 15 minutes to give a quick mention of the Porsche team.
I was fortunate during that hour to stare at the damned peugot for 45 minutes or so. Even when it was just sitting in the pits they kept filming. Even when it was just sitting on the corner waiting for the green flag to come out because they were too lazy to run 1 more lap, they kept the cameras fixed on that stupid car. I guess to them, second place is a big deal. Even if there are only two pairs of cars entered in that class. They must be so proud. |
Ya know, as a courtesy to others who may be recording it to watch at a more convenient time, we try not to post results in the TITLE OF THE ******* THREAD.

What er ya tryin to say Jeff? ;)

Oh, nuthin...:p Just cranky this morning 'cause I'm stuck at my desk. Was looking forward to unwinding by watching the Le Mans finish, and the F1 at Indy, when I finally get home this evening.
Just simple BBS etiquete, Randy. Sorry for yelling at you. I understand your excitement after Porsche has been sucking hind tittie in GT2 all year. I guess the old saying hold true; "if a race lasts long enough, a Porsche will win it". Hell, if Sebring had been one more lap... |
I have to agree, Randy. I understand your excitement but please try not to blurt out the winner in the title again where we can't avoid it and therefore end up knowing the result before we watch it on TIVO.

I don't know what was going on with the coverage, but it was awful.
Why they refused to show a class winner crossing the finish is hard to understand. The most attention any Porsche got was the Flying Lizard car when it was in the garage and found to be out of the race. I thought the camara work was weak. 85% if not more seemed to be "Audi vs Peugeot". There is more to Le Mans then that. KT |
I wonder how much of the feed was provided by Le Mans compared to Speed?
After all, THE big story, if you were in France, was Peugeot vs. Audi. Unfortunately the local interests/context left a bit to be desired for the rest of the world. |
Jeff, I made that same point...and my post has disappeared.

I missed the entire LeMans :( And the F1 qualifying. Apparently my DVR is almost full (due in part b/c my brother keeps taping stupid movies that take up a lot of space) and I forgot to tape the race.
On a positive note, I was around Porsches of all vintages and models, all yesterday and part of today, so I'm not really too unhappy about missing the race. Got to ride in 2 autocrosses today, so that was plenty fun enough! :D Do any of you know if Speed plans to repeat their coverage, or is there anywhere else I could watch it? I'm hoping someone will put at least part of it up on youtube... |
Most of the footage was provided by "World Feed" as they kept calling it. Speed had cameras for thier pit reporters only it seems.
I couldn't believe they didn't follow the lead cars into the first turn. They almost missed the pole setters screw up. And how may time do they have to show the friggin' crew members watching the race on TV??? Poor coverage but it not all SPEED's fault. |
