The ego can be a very dangerous thing!

It's India, silly of me to think patient consent was needed.

And just think, many American medical plans are sending patients to India for major surgeries. I'm not sure I would want Doogie Houser operating on me or my family any time soon.

One of my clients is a cardiology group consisting of six brothers/sisters & brother-in-laws, all from India (or Pakistan?). I'd let any of them operate without hesitation. Brilliant folks.

But would you let one bring one of their 15 year old kid in to perform an operation on you. Not to mention the guy says that he's been training his kid letting him do operations for 3 years. So, better yet, would you let a 13 year old operate or your or a member of your family (so long as his dad is watching, of course)

What a great show-n-tell for the kids.

The difference is that they are licensed here. They are running their practice here, under our oversight. That makes a very big difference.

My wife has a nurse working for her that was an M.D. in the Philippines. To regain her M.D. in America would require she return to school for several years and then pass our boards. Guaranteed the folks in this cardiology group did not simply get licensed on the strength of their qualifications gained in India or Pakistan. Big difference.
