WTB (Midwest): Cadillac SRX
Given our budget and needs, my wife and I have decided to replace our 4Runner with an SRX. We're looking for V8 with a 3rd row seat, excellent shape, clean title, no paintwork or accidents. AWD, DVD, and magnetic ride control are strongly desired. 40k-ish miles or less, and under $22k. I'm checking all the usual sites, but does anybody have one they're selling? Our 4Runner is going to a Pelican, maybe I can come full circle.:) Highly prefer something within 200 miles or so of Wichita, I don't really have much spare time to travel.

Good luck Matt. PM me if you'd like assistance.
|
PM sent. I'll take any help I can get, KS is a black hole for cars.
|
Anyone? Keep your eyes open for me.
|
Bump. 4Runner leaves tomorrow. Honda Pilot is dull, SRX is the only thing we've liked. Help.........
|
I've come across quite a few, but none that exactly meet the criteria. V8 3rd seat AWD w/ under 50K for $22K is tough, esp. w/in 3-4 hours of KC.

Honestly, if I could find a V8 with the 3rd row, under 60k, for a good price I'd be all over it. AWD would be nice, but no required. My wife rarely put the 4Runner in 4wd, and I've been stepping lightly in RWD cars for years. It has stability and traction control, which would suffice.
Funny sidenote, some that are advertised as RWD are actually AWD, the dealer just doesn't know it. Other than a small yellow sticker on the radiator support/cover, there is no AWD marking, and no inside switch. There's one in KC that I like that is AWD, they just don't know it.:) We have a friendly local Caddy dealer that will run the VIN for me. Nearly all of the loaded V8 models out there are AWD, just due to how Cadillac did the option packages. The RWD V8 models normally have very few options. |
Matt,
PM me your e-mail, I have found a couple here in Denver.. Bill |

Search the inventory, the stupid link isn't working. The V6 ones appear to be closer to the low $20's. |
Bill, thanks for the help. They seem pretty high, but usually the ones at the dealerships are. I really want a V8, the V6 I drove wasn't very impressive.
|
I replied to your PM, I do have a guy that is a dealer, he found and brokered the deal on my 92 turbo, if you want his contact info, just let me know.

Thanks Bill!
On a related note, doesn't anyone sell their cars outright anymore? There are almost zero FSBO cars out there. Now I know why I was able to sell my 4Runner in 30 hours. |
Paul (Seahawk) will be here today to pick up the 4Runner, wife is not happy about sharing my truck.

Probably right. Sad but true.

I did an Autotrader.com search with a Wichita zip code. Seems like the typical asking price for what you've described is $23-$24K, but they're all from dealers that are 100-200 miles away. It might be worth a phone call to some of the dealerships to hit them with the "I'll buy it today for $22K out the door if you'll bring it to me right now" line. Now 200 miles is a good haul for a salesman and a lot attendant, but... on a Thursday afternoon there's probably not a lot of traffic on the car lot, so you never know.
This one is V8, AWD, Nav asking $23,700. |

Lee, thanks for the effort. I've done so many Autotrader/Cars.com searches, there's not much out there I have not seen. A dealer I've gotten to know in KC is looking for me, he has access to all the GMAC finance databases. His company wants a straight $1500 in profit, and he thinks he can find what I want for about $18k (his cost). That still brings it in at under $20k, and I have the right to refuse what he buys if it is not as described. There's appearently 60 or so each day for sale, so hopefully something I like will come up soon.
|
Also, I've tried the "I'll give you $XXXXX in cash today" approach, nobody wants to bargain anymore.:)

Matt. You have a PM
