See one in person and will change your mind.

Pollock's art was so great because it broke all the rules. He was an outside of the box thinker when it came to art and that is what modern art was all about. Now a days it's hard to make something that breaks rules since there are really none left in the art world. What a great art period with awesome creativity that may never be seen again,

Very interesting talking to the artists I built the studio for. While some could say "A five-year-old could do that", there are specific rules that they follow about how the human eye and brain work to create that positive reaction. After a quick study, I'm convinced that there is no way I could do what they do.

For instance- Good art will keep the eyes moving, almost involuntarily- Always delighted at something else. When one thing becomes a focal point, it draws your eye directly to it, and stops. Not good.

(As an aside, that's what I don't like about Audi's new supercar. That silly brushed aluminum "blade" on the side of the car dominates the car's style, and I don't see anything else but that one part's ugliness.)

While they start with a plan, usually the finished product is quite a bit different than the original idea. They keep cranking them out, and people keep buying them, even though they have been increasing their prices.

While the simple "I like it" or "I don't like it" hasn't changed, I've enjoyed the education on why I do or don't like something.
