Too much typing and not enough exploitation in this thread. Here are a couple that I picked up in a trade this week. The first one is a Jeff Beck inspired guitar, and the 2nd is just a Fiesta red '60s flavored Custom Shop strat.
Big thanks to Mark's Guitar Loft in NH! http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e26/shermanp/jb1.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e2...manp/1-3-1.jpg |
Shuie, do you have a group shot of all your axes together?

My collection of Squiers is blushing.

Tell me that's not a '58 korina wood Flying V.
|
Its a replica. Except for one very small detail, this guy pretty much nailed it. Its way better than anything Gibson will sell you for $15k. I finally got to see a real '58 V about a month ago in the DC area at Gil Southworth's shop before he closed his doors. It was a religious experience for me. I sold my guitar the following week. This is the guitar made me want to play the guitar as a kid. I didnt have a camera when I was in Southworth's, but shoot me an email or PM me if you want some more pics of mine.

Oh man, you should have told me you were in town. I've been to Southworth's many times. Had no idea they were closing. Why? Once I walked in there and they were on the phone with Eric Johnson, who I was going to see at the Birchmere that night. Lots of serious art in that shop.

they are still selling guitars, but they closed the storefront. All of the guitar stuff is online these days. No reason for anyone to have a store. Its really a shame.
|
Ok -so the EVH ice cream was photoshop. But this? PLEASE EXPLAIN!

There seems to be a fair amount of guitar knowledge here so I ask you. What is it worth. 1953 strat . Pictured in "Fender, the guitar heard around the world" on pages 127 and 132. Described as the second prototype ever built. The first was totaly destroyed because the trem did not work and this one was then built with almost the same design as we know it now. The only differance was that this one only had 3 springs instead of the 5 springs we know today. I have had this guitar since 1957. With slowhands guitar going for over 900,000 and hendrixs going for close to 500,000 could mine be in that same neighborhood. JMPRO |
damn that is awesome. great looking piece too.
do you trust yourself to play it? Its probably worth a bundle... |
Actually I don't play much any more and when I do I perfer my Les Paul to the Strat. I have talked with many profressonal appraisers and no one will place a value on it. Nothing like it has ever been on the market before so there is no benchmark. My only option is to put it up for sale with a big reserve and see where it goes.
