Move Over --------->
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry if this is a repost. Haven't seen it here. Just saw this on the news. "Move Over" windshielf stickers. Kinda funny. Kinda rude, but to the point. Tempting.. http://www.leftlanedrivers.org/ http://www.leftlanedrivers.org/Images/BannerTemp.jpg |
If I was a cop and I saw that sticker......party time.
Here in Seattle I get SO ****** pissed. Twits in their beat to snot subaru wagon, covered in 'Save the Whales' stickers going 60 in the left lane. Grrrrr.....engage rocket launchers. Lintronics are cool, but rotary cannons would be way cooler.... |
How about Turn the frigging cell phone off and move over?
|
How about one for the back window which reads:"Don't You Ever Look In Your Mirrors??"

I'd like to have a setup whereby that comes on in flashing red at the flick of a switch. Why people have to stay left even when the right lane is empty is a mystery to me. Idiots. Of course, you could also have the vanity plate TI 3VOM, which read in the rearview mirror gives a similar messsage...

It's kind of funny, but at the same time I can't help but think "jackass" every time I see someone with a sticker like that. Maybe it's because I see things like that on cars being driven by jackasses, I dunno.
I wonder if your local LEO feels the same way about it...? BB. |
Think I'm going to order one. :)

I used to have a plate like that on my old 300ZX Paul.
I call them Left Lane Loosers. I encountered one last weekend, middle aged woman in a Minivan with all kinds of Jesus Loves you bumper stickers on the back, I thought that was ironic, she was not Christlike at all, she was in the left lane doing 68 passing a car doing 67.8 in the right lane, for miles this went on. When the cars started to pile in behind her she slowed down and paced the car next to her, she was mad she was being tail gated. She refused to move over making all the cars behind her pass on the left. Yes, after about 10 miles she finally cleared the car next to her but would not move over. When I got up next to her I beeped 3 times and gave her a smile and wave and mouthed the words "Thank You" to her. I am leaving this afternoon for NC I get to deal with them all the way through Florida and Georia. Once I get about 1/2 through South Carolina and into NC most people keep to the right. Not in Florida and Georgia they drive in the left. |
Hmmm...

I got a sign that came in a car magazine that said shut up and drive in mirror image writing with a little pic of a cell phone. Technically, in every state I have lived, the left lane is for passing only and they could be ticketed. In Oregon they will pull over an 18 wheeler for running in the fast lane like that.
These folks are a hazard, as bad or worse than someone going too fast, as they create stress and frustration in the drivers around them and make the traffic bunch up behind them. How many times have you seen someone make an unsafe pass on someone they have been stuck behind for a few miles |
Remember in grade school when we used to make a sign that says "Kick Me" and tape it to someone's back? The motoring equivalent of that would include this sticker. And racing mfg stickers in the rear quarter window, numbers on the doors and a bumper sticker that says "Bad Cop. No Donut." Go ahead.
On another amusing note, we once discussed here on Pelican a reader strip that was/is available. You can program it to display whatever message you wish to communicate to other motorists. The strip would fit nicely in place of the "PORSCHE" reflector strip between my tail lights. At that time, the consensus of opinion was that this strip might get somebody into real trouble. That's still my opinion. |
I'd like one of those stickers too, but wouldn't want the negative attention it would bring.
What's almost as annoying are the people tailgating you in rush hour when there is no place to go and no lane is faster than the other. |

Some great this campaign. I hate this state. At this point, it's not the police, but the idiots who live here. rjp |

I got pulled over for doing 12km/hr over the limit a few weeks ago. I was backed up in traffic for ages because someone was taking a nap in the left lane. When they finally pulled over, probably to change their Depends, I sped past at the wreckless speed of 112km/hr... not realizing there was a police car two cars back. Did they pull over the person who had been blocking the left lane for about 8 miles? Of course not. They pulled me over because my wreckless speed of 112km/hr (70mph) was endangering everyone around me. I didn't get a ticket though, which was cool. |
People in Massachusetts drive in the left lane unless there is a problem. I used to need to be at work by 6am and would leave the house early. I would regularly see people enter the highway and shoot straight for the left lane on a 4 lane road... There's no one in the other lanes!!!
Regarding the sticker: people around here would purposely slow up and block you or the cops would target you. Trouble. |

I have Litronics... but they're not THAT bright... hehehe |
Most under-enforced law on the road today is "stay right except to pass". Probably because the target offenders are mostly AARP members who write their congressmen, or folks who would scream "racial profiling".
I hate to say it, but here in the Pacific Northwest, I can just about call 'em every time. Mid day, it's the AARP-sters clogging up the fast lane. Morning and evening drive times, it's usually some very meek, frightened, intimidated looking Asian woman. A good friend who is a King County deputy says they all jokingly call it "DWA" - driving while Asian. It's that noticable around here. Sorry about the "profiling"; y'all can call me a redneck racist now if it makes you feel better. |

I really want one of those. I thought the left lane in Chicagoland was bad, but up here in the twin cities I don't think anyone ever heard the term "fast lane" before... I actually really miss Chicago drivers now that I have been up here for almost two years. If a cop pulled me over and mentioned it, I would just say I was helping them enforce the "Slower Traffice Keep To The Right" signs ;)
