Who are these morons waiting outside Apple stores for 2 days, sleeping in the rain, probably wearing diapers and ****ting themselves to not lose their place in line, to buy a brand new iPhone?

I think this every Thanksgiving when they show people lined up, sleeping on sidewalks to get to the store on Friday. What losers. I make it my goal to do all Xmas shopping online because of this stuff. I buy cards at the stores though.

I will confess that I camped out for concert tix once (first VH concert). But that was before Stub Hub and the Internet and back when getting tix in the parking lot was not as easy.

$600.00 for a freakin' phone!!!! I'm a Mac Man and still I'll pass thanks.

I will stop by my ATT or Apple store tonight after dinner, if there is more than two people I will order online, I just want to 'touch it' and find out what options do I have with my existing plan (unlimited data and 900 minutes) to 'convert' to the iPhone plan. If it is more than $10 extra a month I will pass until WiMax or 3G are available from AT&.After all is just a 'very-nice-looking' piece of technology that will become obsolete in 6 months or less like any other phone.

People queue and pay money for very 'solid' unknown reason (i.e. a 3.6 on a SC or carbon brakes, concert, movies, etc.).

How do you know they are Mac users?

Apple make cross platform hardware.

I know quite a number of people who have Airports, iPods, AppleTV's but not Mac PC's.

Wayne has been one of the most vocal on this board in terms of the iPhone and he's primarily a Windows user.

Ive done cell phone design, I am not saying it's not nice, Im saying standing in line for 2 days for something that wont work 100% is ridiculous

I might guess that a majority of the 100M+ iPod owners/users are also PC folk.

No argument on the standing in line thing.

As far as it not working 100%. It does work 100%. It just does not have some of the features that we might have wanted/expected.

Lack of 3G and installable apps is a biggie for me. Maybe not so much for other people.

I wan't an iPhone and am trying to resist going to the store and getting one today.

I think I will be better off waiting for the next rev.

wait!.... you mean i can use the airport along w/ my thinkpad?? had no idea. seriously. for the life of me i can't make my netgear feed a steady wireless signal. i've resorted to a looong cable... on a LAPTOP :rolleyes:
