Our Lil Ones Special Ingrediant for Pasta and Meatballs

Our 4yr old Daughter loves to help around the house including making dinner. One of her fav things is making meatballs to go with pasta and red gravy (sauce). She now can do it all by her self and is very proud of this.

Tonite she made her famous meatballs. She has been doing this now for a few months. Mommy supervizes but thats about it. The meatballs were really good. I told her they were great and I asked her how she made them. She got a sheepish look on her face and smiled at Mommy, "Mom, should we tell him?" "Ya, I think it would be all right."

At this point I am not sure what these two had going on but the meatballs were good and I didn't think she would do anything too crazy.

"Well Daddy, Mommy uses beer in the meatballs she makes but I can't drink beer so I couldn't use them in my special recipe. I used diet coke instead!"

"Really!, Wow, thats pretty good. They really taste good. What else did you use?" I said.

"Well Daddy, I used bread crumbs, meat, bread crumbs, salt, the other salt..."

"What other salt?"

"The black salt."

"Pepper?"

"Ya, pepper and also some egerano, pastly and some other green powder that smells sweet."

"Basal" Momma intercedes.

"Ya, basal to and I smoosh it all up with my fingers and pour in a can of diet Coke and smooch it up even more till its all smooched up then I make balls outa the smooched up stuff and put them in a pan. Mommy puts them in the oven and thats it."

"You are one fantastic little girl you know that!" I told her.

Smiling with sauce all over her face "Tanks Daddy".

"I caught 6 cat fish today!" Our Son blurps in.

But thats another story...

Great story about your daughter, Mike.

My wife's from Taiwan. The first time she tried making spaghetti years ago, she got this weird idea that it should have cinnamon in it. Cinnamon? Uuuhh...nooo! BTW, she makes great spaghetti nowadays.

Jim - add some chocolet, black beans and cheese and it would be Cinncinatti Chili.

I was about to say that when I read your post. What the hell is the deal with cinnamon and chocolate in Skyline Chili or any other for that matter? That is some retched nasty stuff but don't tell any of the locals that.

Scambled or Fried?

She calls hard boiled eggs 'soffeggs' cuz they ain't hard Dad! Nanna made her breakfast once, asked her what she wanted ' 'soffeggs Nanna' so Nanna made her a soft boiled egg - that didn't go over well.
