What are your plans for the 4th?

Forcast: 88 partly cloudy
We are having a cookout and the it's off to Seymour Johnson AFB for the works.

Should be in Paris or Cannes France. Not exactly where I want to be but not bad either.

Edit, would much rather be home, even if its forcast to be 115 degrees. Been out for over a month and thats too damm long. You guys enjoy the BBQ because there are others who will be stuck in a hotel somewhere enjoying "mystery" meat at some cafe.

Yearly cook-out with the foreigners. This year we will have printed lyric sheets for the National Anthem. And it won't be the spanish one either!

My fiancee just moved in, so I'll probably spend most of it unpacking. We can't really host anything big right now and we haven't heard of anything happening, so we may as well make the best use of the time.

Hopefully, though, we can have a few people come over later on and we can throw some dead animal on the grill and have a few beers. I'm sure by the time we get to late afternoon, we're not going to want to unpack anymore...

Family party in the backyard, cookout and pool time, it's going to be in the 80's and looks like it will be a nice day! Friends and neighbors will be there and we'll have a nice day...

BBQ & fireworks. :)

Rick Lee 07-02-2007 05:31 AM

The lady and will take either the bike or the 993 out to Skyline Drive and stay far, far away from the fireworks and crowds in DC.

I'll be demolishing the rest of my kitchen. New kitchen here we come. :D

Fortunately, I can take in the fireworks either from the comfort of my rooftop terrace, or just walk down the street to the Mall. But, if I was coming into town from the burbs, I would definately have the same attitude as you, RL. :)

My bldg. has the best view in town and I still wouldn't come into this city if you paid me to. I did it once 12 yrs. ago and will never ever subject myself to such crowds again. I absolutely hate crowds.

We are having a house warming party - an anniversary party (9years) - and July 4th party. ~ 50 friends over beer, burgers, dogs, swimming - hopefully a boat ride to see the fireworks from the pier (which is awesome BTW)
Hopefully the weather will hold -

jriera 07-02-2007 08:02 AM

Weather is going to be on the hot side (115) but with lots of BBQ, beers, pool and friends we will be able to manage.

Fireworks views from both sides of the house, North side the Strip, South side my community (better fireworks than the Strip ones)

a relaxing drive on u.s.20 from cny to boston for the pops and works. some chinese food and back home.
eight or nine hours in the car, three or four on the ground. a perfect balance.

Porsche-O-Phile 07-02-2007 08:54 AM

As little as possible.

Going to go for a nice 40 mile ride on the road bike in the AM I think, then work on the P-car (have some new gauges to install on the Callaway), then a party at a friend's in the evening for a few hours. Pretty low-key.

Well plans changed. Family came down from V.A. We are now going to little Washington for shopping, dinner, then fireworks and party on the water.

paint my cookie cutters light ivory, do some Revolutionary War research, head to the Esplanade, ponder life and our country anticipating the F16 flyover, sausages, fireworks.

Bikini time for me and burnt dogs later in the day... and fireworks on the way home from various cities between Oceanside and Torrance

trekkor 07-03-2007 05:19 PM

I'm en route to Montreal tomorrow, headed to my brother's wedding.

I'll be taking Route 2 through Maine, New Hampshire & Vermont... small town USA on July 4th. My wife and I (and two dogs) are really looking forward to it.
