"The Hook" and his expired tags..
 

I have a buddy from high school (we'll call him The Hook) that is less than responsible. The Hook has a four year old Toyota Corolla that he leases. The car has never had an oil change, he has no insurance, and he is still running on the tabs he originally got. That's right, the tabs are three years expired. Michigan only has four colors that they ever use on tabs and they have rotated back to his green ones for 2008 so The Hook can relax a little for the next year:D


Terry's ticket story got me thinking about how some people get away with everything and some get away with nothing.

I'm sure he'll turn in his lease just as the tabs are due for 08. Very few leases are longer than four years. Most lease companies call to make sure you have insurance as well.

Dumb luck is still luck, I suppose.

pay for the 'ticket'...send him to vegas. have him put everything you've got on black..or red..it doesn't matter! enjoy your new fortune. :D

I did the same thing when I lived in Chicago. For 3 years I had Michigan plates, and I never bothered switching them over. Damn glad I didn't waste my time. Got pulled over 3 times, and the Chicago cops couldn't have cared less. In fact, I think it got me out of tickets because the didn't want to bother writing up all the violations!
