Is that an issue with the phone per se or with the service?

Neilk 07-02-2007 01:46 PM

No, just a little late to the game.... see this link .

Sorry I couldn't resist.

It is amazing that Apple could leave something as basic as being able to organize your contacts by work/friends/family out of their phone, not to mention reminders.

Apple doesn't have too much experience building cell phones, so what do you expect? For them to be experts all of a sudden? I'll stick with my Motorola, thank you very much.

No, this is exactly what I thought. Based on the specs and the reviews, I expected it to miss many features that corporates users need, and make it not usable for them. It is for this reason, and the price, I do not believe it will sell as well as Jobs predicts.

It SAYS it's Bluetooth 2.0, but to make Stereo Bluetooth Headphones work with it you have to attach an external device. I know, I know, this will be patched. But it's a music player for dog's sake. It should have had that feature off the bat.

Yeah, Wayne's crazy. Wayne talks in the 3rd person. :p

Dude, how many threads are you going to start about this thing? What gives? You really love it, don't you. Admit it, come clean.

this is Wayne's website. he can start as many threads as he likes. I've found them quite informative - they have confirmed my decision not to jump into the frenzy and get an Iphone.

Thanks for pointing that out. Hey, how was that trip to the Superbowl?

Superbowl ? ha ha . you remembered that, huh? i haven't thought about the SB since it happened. It was a downpour and my friend ended up selling his tix for big bucks. He was glad that he did.
I ended up watching it in the comfort of my own home on 50" HDTV. i was dry and delighted.
Thanks for asking though

on-ramp 07-02-2007 03:09 PM

wow. that's pretty lame. I guess they don't want other people finding out, otherwise the returns would sky-rocket.

Wayne is not crazy, just a (demanding) customer not satisfied with the 'lack' of a particular set of features.

In my case that 'lack' of features is a HUGE plus!! if I got a phone that beeps me more than once for voice mail or any other message, such phone will not last for very long. My phone is always in vibrate-only mode. I do know how to check for voice mails (very in-your-face with the iPhone) and other messages, my BlackBerry is used mostly for corporate email (100+ a day) as well as my primary work phone (~40 calls a day)

The "beep" issue will probably by "fixed" in the first or second update as will as many other issues that people have been requesting.

That's the beauty of a device that runs the same OS as Apple's big machines.

Expect frequent updates and improvements, as is the case with those other big machines.

Best,

Kurt

Agreed. :) I hate that feature too. But it should be an option.
