Backup Now or Repent Later.

M.D. Holloway 07-03-2007 07:33 AM

They are almost instant now - is this some special sort of wire that has pre-cognition to get me there even before I think about where to go?

That is a lot of power; I hope you use it sensibly.

JeremyD 07-03-2007 07:42 AM

With great power comes great responsibility...

Its been up and down lately. Somedays its pretty fast yet others its been slow to non-responsive.

Most of the slow times have been late at night so was assuming that you guys were doing maintenance on the computers.

Damn brother.

azasadny 07-03-2007 08:11 AM

That's great news!! What does a 10MB pipe run?

sammyg2 07-03-2007 08:15 AM

Same as a henway.

rammstein 07-03-2007 08:48 AM

Am I to understand that a 10MB pipe allows for the triumphant return of the grid-girls thread?

A couple of pounds.

10Mb bi-directional?? Who is providing that? Dedicated? is that a 6xT1 configuration?? WiMax maybe?

Inquiring minds want to know ....

azasadny 07-03-2007 09:28 AM

Jordi,
I was wondering it it's SONET, Muxed T1's, fractional T3 or something like that. It's been awhile since I worked with WAN bandwidth, so I'm curious.

Rot 911 07-03-2007 09:57 AM

Very good news. I was just getting ready to make a post asking what happened to the server. Most days it seems like I have a dial up modem. At home I have DSL and at work I have a T-1 line.

Porsche-O-Phile 07-03-2007 10:03 AM

Need more hamsters?

M.D. Holloway 07-03-2007 10:52 AM

Jordi and Art - quit show'n off! Dam Techies!!!

12own911 07-03-2007 10:56 AM

Hey Wayne, you may want to try for the 12th or 16th as the 13th is a Friday...

azasadny 07-03-2007 11:00 AM

Mike,
You're the "techie"! You've probably forgotten more than I'll ever know!

edgemar 07-03-2007 12:23 PM

Would housing your servers in a data center be a PITA?

austin552 07-03-2007 05:03 PM

Ah yes... I have fond memories of some of the pipe I laid.
