Big Head Todd and the Monsters @ Hollywood Park
Wow! What a great show! BHTM, flew in early Saturday morning from Alaska, to put on a Friday night show at Hollywood Park (horses) after the races. A big thank you to Jeremy (Gogar), Todd, Brian and Rob!!! Thank you for letting me come down to the show, the VIP pass and letting me hang out for a while in your "inner sanctum" for the night. You guys are a terrific live band. To all that read this, don't miss their show when they come to town! Oh yeah, this was the second time at a race track and I walked away on the positive!
Now for the pics... Sponsored in part by 93.1 (Jack FM) ![]() Last minute sound check. ![]() Hmm, interesting selection of refreshments! ![]() big crowd. There was a balcony (filled) behind and above me as well. ![]() Sounding great! ![]() Words of wisdom. ![]() Jeremy realizing that he has to go!!! ![]() Dave

I saw them when Jeremy did his "gve me a ride in your 911" thread.
We are already planning to go back to see them again when they pass through. They put on an amazing show.

Sorry everybody. I thought about posting something or doing something "car-wise" for this show, (especially since it's so much closer to El Segundo,)but my schedule for this weekend was pretty wild. For example, we flew on a red-eye from Anchorage, AK at 2:30 AM, checked into a hotel, took a nap, and went straight to Hollywood Park, played the show, back to hotel, and flew all day today to Detroit. Go figure.
Anyway, for you guys who were wondering, as long as conditions work out, just PM me a week or two before a show and I'd be happy to see what I can do. The only rule is: If we haven't met before and your car isn't on jack stands, you must drive it to the show and give me a ride and show me what you love about your car. It's similar to the "post a picture of your car on your first post" rule. Thanks, Dave for coming down! I'm trying to scam some of you CA guys to do a run to Mammoth Lakes later this summer on 8/18. Could be fun! http://www.bigheadtodd.com/tour/event_details.php?id=351 Or Temecula, for you gamblers. http://www.bigheadtodd.com/tour/event_details.php?id=352

I grew up in Shirley I lived there from when I was 8 years old until I was 19 then I moved to Florida. Jeremy, I am not looking to scam any tickets next time, the admission to the show is well worth it, plus we plan on coming with a few friends and I would never impose that upon you. Looking forward to next winter and the H.O.B. Orlando stop.

Well, Chuck, the TOKILLYUH wasn't so much what did it as the 10,000 Miles of plane flights in 5 days. It's hard to rock, man.

i hope yer going on a boeing!
i think you should mention to yer booking agent this doesnt appear to be cost effective fer the biz unit(band). further i would tell him if yer going to alaska that you will need a few days to see the sights before next gig. also i would mention that the culture shock of going from denver to alaska to el segundo to detroit is truly more than one can manage w/a smile. further i would mention that it is NOT cost effective to fly different airlines and yer mileage points are suffering because of his narrow minded thinking. i would finally say to him............"if you ever come up with this moronic booking schedule again...............we will handcuff you and put you in a darkened room with CYNDY LAUPER or PRINCE or K.C. and the SUNSHINE BAND or YOKO ONO blaring thru headphones at MACH 10 VOLUME!" keep a smile and realize that everyone on this planet who HASNT TRAVELED ALOT........wishes they were you! what dumb-a$$'s huh! been there done that and planes trains automobiles is the ONLY THING THAT COMES TO MIND! ask me sometime about my winter biz trip to NEWARK and then on to CHICAGO........-47 degrees w/windchill and the APU on the united airlines had died. it was as cold inside plane stalled on tarmac as it was outside! good luck. this is the part they DONT TELL YOU ABOUT IN ROCK STAR SCHOOL or SALES MGR. SCHOOL and theres a reason! Last edited by charleskieffner; 07-08-2007 at 12:51 PM.. |
