Concert to Save the Earth
Did anyone watch any of this? I flipped it on in time for an interview with Camero Diaz. Let's just say, she doesn't come across as one of the leading authorities on atmospheric change. We could even say that she doesn't come across as having enough intellect to rival a typical 5th grader. What an idiot!!!
I also thought it was humorous to listen to celebrities preach about changing to more efficient light bulbs as they stand on one of several stages around the world that were sucking down enough power to light up NYC for a year. What happened to the hole in the ozone that was supposed to usher in the next ice age???

I guess the concert worked: we're still here!
That thing is an over-glorified publicity stunt to help celebrities and musicians relieve some guilt and feel like they are actually doing something other than chasing fame and fortune. There are very few that really understand what is going on or actually care. I laughed at the news blurb that said they asked everyone to sign a pledge to be energy efficient since hypocritical Al G refused to do so. Maybe he thinks his son doing high speed chases in a Prius qualifies as energy efficient.

We saw most of the concert on TV -- we were waiting for the Police to play -- of course, they were the last group on stage at Giants Stadium.
My observations: - Al Gore is an idiot. - The new bands can't hold a candle to the talent that was seen in the older groups. Groups like The Police, Duran Duran, Gensis/Phil Collins, Roger Waters...etc. really showed that THEY still have it, and have talent. Water's redition of Brick in the Wall was terrific. But when they had some of the "rising" stars up on stage, the ones that weren't lip-syncing were so flat and out of sync -- arrgh. And freakin' Kayne West totally ruined Message in the Bottle in the end. Sting was trying to ignore Kayne's off-key crooning, but it was nearly impossible. I'm just glad Mr. West won't be joining The Police when they're back in town next month -- where we have lower seating tickets for! -Z-man.

Yeah...but you know, "they care". They all flew to whichever performance in their private jets to show how much "they care".,..
I'm done with televised krap like this. So, bottom line? No, I didn't watch.

I read where algor is going to press his message in the U.S.
The top 10 worst smog cities are not in the U.S. 4 in China, 4 in India, Cairo Egypt, and of course, the big one, Mexico City. Why not spend your money there Algor? Is it because they won't pay attention to you? |

I heard Metallica play on XM. They played 3 songs from the "Black Album" of 1991. I would have thought "Blackened" from ...AJFA would have been a good choice. It just seems so "staged". Kirk Hammet is a terrible interviewee.

I did my part by going to two Rush concerts this weekend and riding my super fuel efficient motorcycle to both of them in NJ and back to VA. I also liberated about 25 cans from their beer oppressors.

I spent the day watching Porsches rip around a racetrack sucking down gas like it was going out of style!!! WooHoo!!
I couldn't give a rip about the concert to save the earth. I guess car owners aren't the only ones, either. I saw many boats , jet skis, and other watercraft enjoying a nice weekend, apparently without worry.
