OSX on a Novell network

Any ideas how I can put a Mac running OSX on a Novell Network? OS9 seems to work, but not Apple's latest OS.

Has anyone successfully accomplished this - w/o Parallels?

Thanks! SmileWavy

What services are you looking to use?

What do you want to do?

This might help:

Good luck!

Yes, unfortunately Novell still exists. What I need to do is hook up OSX to Novell for the usual file-sharing, print-sharing stuff. Typical client-server setup that shares documents, large graphic files and an accounting software that IS NOT Mac compatible.

It's all legacy crap from Warner Bros. I hate it - would love to go with a Mac server or even Windows server, but the powers that be feel like doing things on the cheap.

Best part: the software is illegal.

Anyway, I'm looking for a quick fix before suggesting a much-needed upgrade. In the meantime, I gave in, and am now going to give Parallels a try to see if it can get me closer to Novell through its VM interface.

Who knows? As a some time IT guy, I've made stones bleed, so why shouldn't this work? :D

There is a pay-for client for IPX/SPX setups (novell 4.x) not sure about the TCP/IP clients... of course, you could always use a old linux box that will mount each users shares, etc. in their home directory, and then the macs can access it via a samba share on the linux box to their home directory. Duct-tape-ish but works...
