Ebay trying to compete with Craigslist - Kijiji?

www.kijiji.com/
I find it amusing when a company tries to compete with an established niche player. How many companies tried to compete with Ebay and failed? Now Ebay wants to take on Craigslist? I just don't see that working out.

Ebay also owns 25% of Craigslist. Try something new, but hedge.

if they can effectively keep out the '2003 BMW 325i $3,500' spammers i'll switch. i am tired of sifting through the bull**** spam on CL.

I beat you to it and bought that car. Nice guy. He accidentally wrote the check for $5500 so I refunded him the $2000. It should be arriving from the UK any day now. Not a bad deal with the free shipping.

I love Craigslist because of the real time posts. Determined buyers can really clean up. I just sold two Craigslist sourced VW TDIs on Ebay. One netted 80% profit!

Wayne have you ever checked out sites like 'craigshelper'? It is sooo strange that the CL people despise any form of efficiency. but then in that vain i guess they are trying to hold true to the 'pennysaver' days of old, which i can appreciate.
