In Okinawa this week, near Tokyo the next.

Any Pelican members here? How about near Yokosuka next week? Any short excursion recommendations? I hope to have my install and training done early this week so I have a couple days of free time. I'd love to rent a moped and ride the island before flying back to Tokyo.

Did I mention it's another whole level of HUMID? I shopped near Naha today and DANG..... It was embarrasing.

I'm hitting the Sushi and Yakiniku pretty hard, chased of course, by some Orion draft.

David,

Take a tour of Shurri Castle. Also, if you can get signed up, take a tour of the Battle of Okinawa and visit the War Memorial there. Lots of extremely interesting places to see regarding WWII.

Man, I envy you. My father was stationed in Japan (way north, Misawa, top of the main island) twice, I lived there for a couple of years before I was 10 and then again for a couple of years before I was 16. I'd just about kill to go back and spend a lot of time in Japan.
