Let's see your paper targets

Just came back from one of my best ever range sessions. I brought my SIG's P220 (.45) and P239 (.40) and my tricked out Springfield Mil-Spec. 1911 (.45). I only shot at 7 yards today and usually put one in the pipe before I insert a full mag. I probably shot up 20 paper plates today and they all looked about like this. My SIG P239 is inching its way to the top of my list. 1911 shoots a little high and right, but I always compensate for it after I see where the first one lands.

Nice groups. Now go find a local IDPA chapter and have some real fun.

Today my fiance had her wisdom teeth out. While she was having that done, I didn't have enough to go back home before she was done, so I went to a local gun store to get my mind off of her pain. I asked about their IDPA stuff. I think I'll do one in early August. First one I did was a real eye opener. A rep. from Sigarms came and brought their latest full auto 553 or something, which I got to try out. $20 well spent.

Well, I might miss center mass then, but you'll just bleed to death a lot more slowly.

Hey, ammo is expensive.

Can't remember the model # for sure. It has to be military or LEO only, as it was full auto and AFAIK, we can't buy class III stuff made after 1986.

I assume you are shooting these 'off hand'?

If those targets are from 7 yards from a bag/rest, you best send all three to me for some 'tuning'!:D

Are you kidding? Of course, they're off hand. And I was probably standing a few feet behind the firing line. I only use bag rests for rifle bore sighting.

C'mon, someone else post some targets.

At 21 feet your groups ought to be almost on top of each other.

Not shooting BR so much anymore, but here are a couple of "zeros" shot in registered competion with moving backers. In BR you shoot for group size, not score. There are 5 shots in each group, shot at 100 yds. The rifle is a custom 6PPC single shot. First group measures .068" the second group measured .080".

This was back in April. I need to get back out to the range!

(Kimber 1911, 4" .45acp. 16 rounds @ 25 yards)

Eric ...Eric ...how many times do I have to explain? Center of mass man ...center of mass! The bad guy is gonna be jerking his head all around! Dispatching his ears is just gonna piss him off! :) :) :)

I don't have a pic of it, but I shot my Steyr M40 at 50 yards off hand. The target was a rifle sight in target and about the size of a sheet of note book paper. I put seven out of ten on the paper.

The kicker was totally by luck. One was absolutely dead center. I saved it so maybe I will snap a pic.

EDIT: A Steyr M40 is a semi-auto .40 cal handgun.

Rick Lee 07-21-2007 06:50 AM

Awesome. Keep 'em coming.

sketchers356 07-21-2007 07:52 AM

That auto Sig does not look as cool as I was imagining an auto Sig would look.

Then again I like the P99
