Rare multicolor VW Harlequin Golf on eBay...ever seen one?

Have you ever seen one of these driving around? I've always thought they were cool and unique...VW only made 264 of them. They parked 4 cars next to each other and swapped all the body panels at the factory.

The best man at my wedding is selling his wife's VW Golf Harlequin. It's one of the first four produced for the auto show circuit. I'm the one that talked her into buying it seven years ago, so I'm hoping this post might help.

Yeah, there is a guy around here that has one. There used to be two but the other caught fire and was a total loss. Ugly as ass if you ask me.

Ugly as sin in my view. And I think they made a lot more than 254 - because I have seen them many, many times in Germany. Perhaps they only exported 254 to the US. Still 254 too many.

He had some nice Racing Dynamics wheels on the car that were on it when it was a show car. A couple weeks ago he came out to his carport to find the car on jacks and no wheels! This is what the insurance company replaced them with.

It's really a love it or hate it car I gotta admit.

Definition of retarded. Looks like a car that got in 24 accidents and used the wrong parts.

Goofy, yes. Ugly, maybe.

But it definitely turns heads wherever it goes!

How does this math work out?

I've seen a couple of these in MA, and ME. I kinda like it, but then I like a lot of unusual cars. There's a guy in Maine that has a VR6 in one.

Do you have to dress like an evil clown when you drive it? Just curious about the protocol.

as long as the shoes and a red rubber nose are worn, you're ok.

There were a couple similar around here for a while, just saw one the other day. I always thought it was a promo car to show the colors available in the given model year.....

Cheers

I was in Pittsburgh a few weekends ago and saw one. I use to see a few around in So. Cal. too but never really knew anything about them...until now. Thanks!

Is that the "ultimate rainbow car"? Around here, everyone would assume the driver is gay...
